May 11th 2009 Update: Vacation until June 1...wont be responding to inquiries until then.


There are several scrap yards local to me who let me rummage through all the wrecked cobalts/g5's for parts when I need something.

If anyone here is looking for any stock parts, let me know because I can likely get it for you. I'll charge you whatever my cost is + shipping + a few bucks to cover my gas.

Interior parts, some exterior panels, struts, etc...lemme know if you need anything in this thread. Interior plastics will likely need to be cleaned when you receive them...I won't be doing this for you.

Things that are not worth while to ask about....bumpers, lips, wings, seats, rims....reason being the scrap yard makes a mint selling those to body shops and the price isn't worth it after shipping.

Also, as I'm doing this to help fellow cobalt/g5 owners and getting literally no gain from it, please dont waste my time if you dont intend on buying anything.

ADDED: Prices I give you are firm. I dont set them...the guy at the scrapyard tells me the price and I add enough to cover shipping and my time. I wont bargain at all.

I'd be interested in a DP if you could find one from an SS...also a pair of sedan taillights and a stock antenna. I would like to know if you can find out prices before I commit?

 

Cheaper for you to get them from ebay. Some parts from the yards are pretty expensive...headlights are one of them. I believe they are $100 per headlight. Parts like that they charge a lot for because they can get that much from a body shop for it.

And yes, the process is...you tell me what you want..ill check the yard and give you a price..then you'de pay me before I physically get the parts from the yard so im not stuck with **** if someone backs out. Shouldnt typically take longer then a day or two after you pay for me to get down to grab the parts...im there quite frequently for myself.

 

I'm curious if you've run across any of the cup holder inserts that are in good condition (in front of the shifter and below the temp controls). I'll take a pic to let you know the exact piece.....

 

i also need a cup holder insert, a front lower grille from 2.4SS, upper grille from an SS and a front chevy bowtie emblem a 2 dr trunk with no spoiler

 

Did you want just the little rubber insert? Or the plastic base part as well? I can get both, multiples. Best thing to do for any odd ball parts is to show me a gmpartsdirect diagram with the part you want.

actually, its on $20 from gmpartsdirect...it wouldn't be worth your trouble

bowtie - shouldnt be a problem
front grille and upper grille - possible..id have to check on those
2 dr trunk would be expensive...easily $300 and tax...plus shipping...not worth it for you

 

any idea how much a scissor jack would be? i lent mine out at a track day and it came back bent to hell...

 

k, i wasnt really worried about the trunk, i dont have to have it but i do want the rest of the stuff, just shoot me sum prices and let me know

 

i am wanting to take off my armrest so i was wondering if u can find a ebony colored the blackish color parts that covers up where the arm rest goes

I've got my doubts if any stock subs are left in any of them. Some stuff gets grabbed up pretty quick.

I am in Whitby... but I am looking for a fender (Driver) and Hood for my Cobalt.... I prefer yellow but I doubt that will happen...

I'm not in Ontario. Only yellow balt here has the driver fender damaged and the hood is demolished.
