I'll have pics up tomorrow if I get a chance and the mount really cuts wheel hop down. The only time wheel hop came up is when I got new tires the traction was hard enough to let the tranny move and had small amount of hop but after 300 miles on the new tires never saw wheel hop again.

Install takes 5 minutes to do after you get the hang of it. You jack the engine up a little to support its weight. You take 3 bolts and 2 nuts off. Take old mount out put new solid mount in and place bolts and nuts back on. Make sure they're tight unjack engine make sure bolts and nuts are still tight and your done.

Well the truth is not so much the vibes as I loved how it made my car feel like it had a v8 under the hood. The solution is tranny mounts and those vibes are only noticeable taking off in first for a second.
The TTR is great but the tranny mounts (and catching hell for modding my car from parents) I have to take a more sleeper approach.

PICS ARE UP!!!

Again I'm looking to trade for

A Hurst Short Throw Shifter

or

A Header for my SS S/C

or

Cat Back exhaust (looking for a deep muscle car sound)

or

A HP Tuners Tune

Thanks!

I have a B&M Short Throw that I would trade you. I believe the B&M is better, as it gives you different bushings for the Shifter base .

Actually, nevermind... I like it too much.

Free bump, I guess. I would like this though... But I don't have the $$$ to drop on it right now, as I am getting far too many OTHER, much more important things.

You ever hear of the 12 hours of Sebring Races?
I'm about 12 miles north of Sebring in a little town called Avon Park. It's right on US 27.

Sleeper?

I've got news for ya. The TTR upper mount made far less noise and vibrations in my car compared to the prothane tranny inserts. I know because I had the mount in alone for about 750 miles before I put in the inserts...

It might not be as bad w/o the upper mount, but it will still be louder than the TTR mount and stock tranny bushings.

How much worse are the vibrations with the two combined?

Dammit, I want this... but I am getting too much other **** first.

Let me be clearer my tranny mounts are not the TTR or any other vendors. These are the stock mounts filled with polyurethane and baked creating (while not as solid as the solid tranny mounts provided by TTR and others but still solid enough wheel hop is gone) a less vibed car. Again the vibes didn't bother me it was the fact the car sounded louder/meaner that got my folks suspicious so I went the alternative route by filling the tranny mounts. If I start making some real power down the road I might buy another but since I'm not using it why not let another Cobalt owner have it?

Twice as bad as w/ just the upper mount in on my car.

I guess there are things to take into consideration, though. My car is making pretty decent power and has a full 3" catback w/ big header on it. All those things combined may make my car worse than your typical mild-moderately modded car...

I get your point, but I'm not very confident that your solution will stop wheel-hop...

Any restriction in flexibility is going to increase vibrations and change engine tone. If you successfully stiffen them up (enough to prevent most wheel-hop) then your car will be louder and have more vibrations than that mount.

Hmmm... I don't mind the dash and steering wheel vibrating... but its the loose change & **** in the glovebox that drives me nuts!

But to be fair Edubs you are much more modded compared to me you have alot more power going to the ground. I'm looking to get into the mid 13's and I'll call it a day as my car is a daily driver. Later on I'll go all out with a project car.

But so far with my setup the filled tranny mounts have eliminated wheel hop as I have spun tires with no cabin vibes just pure wheel burn.

EDIT:
Also with just the Engine mount on no shaking from the glove box (I have rachets and sockets and wrenches in it so I can swap my pulleys and mounts in a moments notice ) and they don't shake just the engine bay and like I said I love the sound and vibes feels like a V8's uner the hood.

I hear ya. I'm in a constant battle w/ my fiance cause she loves to leave bags of chips and snacks in the glove box, lol. Rattles and vibs really only kick in from 1500-2500 on normal acceleration and in high gear, low speed scenarios (dash and loose change alike)...

That's good to hear then. It is all about a perfect blend/comprimise between power and supporting modifications. If you've found your sweet spot, stick w/ it!
