GA Local, Want to trade G5 rear end for Cobalt- Summit White!!

Alright guys, today is the day. I have officially decided i want to trade out my rear end for a cobalts. I absolutley love the 2 taillights that you have and i want it. I know there are a lot of people out there that like the way the G5s backend looks. I have the lowrise spoiler. It is summit white and i can take pictures on request.

Thanks for looking everyone and remember i am in the GA area. please contact me thru PM or posting in this thread. I am VERY interested

It will not work, your frame is different to mount your tail lights... you would have no way in mounting the other 2 tails.

Your tails mount to the frame not your bumper. This why u unscrew them from the inside of ur trunk.

I agree with him. If this were not the case my 4dr would already have this mod cuz I really like the round lights also.

If you manage to make this work I'd love to see pics of the process.

the 4 dr g5s and 2dr g5s have differnt trunks and tailights due to the roundness of the body. everything will lign up here becuase we have in esscence the same car. all that needs to be done is traded bumper and trunk. thats all

I have a Cobalt...not sure if it's the same or not. I'm thinking that if it works for the G5 it would work for the 4dr Balt too. But I don't think it will work period. Someone prove me wrong though cuz I'd love to see this done.

guys IT WILL NOT WORK. Ive already been down this road. Your taillights will not mount which casues the bumper to not mount correctly..Unless you are planning some serious frame work its not going to happen.

the sedan is dfferent then the coupe....it will work..the body is exactly the same...all the same holes everything...why would gm make two different rear ends???? all they did was change the lights and the bumper and trunk lid...everything underneath is the same.

I think someone needs to take some pictures of their G5 without the bumper and tail lights and someone take some pictures of their Balt so we can settle this once and for all. It would suck to trade the parts only to find that they wont match up.

i'm doing this on a coupe, and i would love the G5 rear end. my car is yellow though...

someone take pictures of where the lights mount on an SS, then you OP, take out your tails and take pics.

Nothing between the coupe and sedan rear is the same.

A Cobalt coupe to G5 coupe rear swap will not work.

I had a friend try it.
