A 2.0 (lsj) kit would not work for a 2.2 at all. The LE5, L61 and LAP are all fairly similar so far as design and dimensions.. the LSJ and LNF are a good bit different. Not to mention, an LSJ or LNF kit would likely put out so much boost it would blow an L61 to ****.
To answer a few questions:
1. Is the price lower just because there's no intercooler?
No. The price has been dropped on all kits, not just those with intercoolers. The Essentials and Essentials Plus kits never had intercoolers included and have been sliced in half.
2. How long is this going on?
That hasn't been set, but we're looking to get these kits out of our warehouse and into some GM's.
3. Does that mean you'll no longer carry them?
After this promotion is over, you won't get them at this price again. We still plan on carrying inventory to service the kits, honor all warranties and provide backup parts.
4. Can we get a group buy on the intercoolers?
Not from Garrett. Sorry. We are currently out of the intercoolers needed to complete the kit. Otherwise, it would have been included in the kit originally and this question wouldn't have needed to be asked.
5. Which kit should I get?
For the 2.2L manual tranny, I'd go with the Alpha kit. Pick up an intercooler and you've got everything you need. I've driven it and it's a good time! 2.4L or auto, I'd go with the GT Tuner. As I've said before, we developed the kit for the 2.2L manual transmission, so it is meant to fit that properly and I can't vouche for perfect fitment on the 2.4L or automatic transmission versions. I've seen it work, but I don't have the specifics of how to make it happen as I've not installed a kit on either of these options.
6. Can I get a bigger turbo?
I'm sure that's a possibility, but you'll have to talk it over with the distributor. Go to www.TurboByGarrett.com to find the nearest Garrett Performance Distributor. Keep in mind that you'll also need a custom tune and fueling solution with a different turbo (or engine or transmission).
7. What will the price be with a different turbo?
I don't know. That will have to be on a case-by-case basis and discussed with the distributor. Garrett does not sell directly to the public, so I cannot quote you a price. Sorry.
El Mariachi - I'm glad to hear you like the kit! I hope you get a lot of good years out of it!

[quote]there is still no tuning for the 07 models right?[quote]
there is if you go with ls2edit im savin for it for this summer/fall, but there are a few on here who have done it. unless you want basically a one time tune then call vince at trifecta ( i only say that because you have to send it back to get it re tuned i believe)

The Garrett tune isnt that great but it gets the car up and running, I know I was the first one to email them about the SAI problem not being programmed out, IDK if they have fixed that now, but get re-tuned byt Trifecta
