GM OEM Remote Start, Add to a car W/O system or etend range on Factory system

2-way technology and a convenient display screen shows the last command performed using your remote transmitter (e.g. locked doors, remote start engaged, etc.) as well as important vehicle data, including remote start count down timer, tire pressures, fuel level, and odometer. This system offers greater operating range than the factory keyless entry system, and the transmitter can control a second Advanced Remote Start-equipped vehicle. Looks like a fairly simple install. I ordered this for my wife's G5. Her car was totaled so this is up for sale. I believe everything is as it should be in the box. It is a hood latch swap 3 things to direct plug in, mount the antenna using the supplied tape, and set up the 2 remote start remotes to the car. Not sure if it requires GM to tune it or if its totally a plug and play kit. Either way, I would think you could get the install part done in about 30 minutes by looking at what it came with. This kit cost me $252 with taxes and Shipping. Great part to add to your ride that is getting hard to come by.

You can reach me at TheAutoNation@yahoo.com Asking $170 with free US Shipping. Heck of a deal to add long range remote start to your ride with existing remote start, or no remote start at all. My wife's G5 had no remote start and this is all you need to make it work with the car.

No, this is a GM OEM option for the extended range remote start. Your car does not need to have any type of remote start currently for this system to work (that kit was cheaper). This was made for the Coblat/G5 and I think HHR. Comes with GM key fob, and a digital key fob. Outside of a possible BCM reflash to sync the fobs, and your ride, it is plug and play. Comes with a GM kill switch hood latchs. Few plugs into your factory harness, and you should be set. There are really only a few wires to deal with. And the price is right. Over $100 less than buying it from GM plus free shipping.

19213691 - GM Remote Start

My guess would be the same. GM has not made ANYTHING start related for a manual. For safety/lawsuit reasons. That being, my guess would be a bypass. Had remote start on my C6 Vette added aftermarket.

The link above is the kit. They have it for about $200 and $30 for Shipping and taxes. Just shows the price is right!

I will not take $150 off this item. I am offering it at $100 off of new with free shipping and it is BRAND NEW. Only removed from the box to take pictures. Come up $50 and its all yours. This is very hard to get. No one on eBay offers it even at this point. Noticed that GM Parts Giant, or Parts Direct, one of them says out of stock. I have one of the last OEM kits you will ever be able to get for your ride at a $100 loss to me (More with SxH).

Seeing as how GM Dealer cost is $191.10 maybe you should jump on the $150 locally. Being that this is NOS on a product not manufactured any more, I would take them up on that if you are interested.

However, if you want my kit it is also $150 mailed to your door step. Not going to take a $150 hit. Already giving a about $115 off when it comes to me shipping it and all. Try to find any site that still has the product and with tax/SxH comes in under $230. Not to mention the fact that it takes weeks to get in from most of those guys.

I'd buy it right now if someone could confirm whether or not it will work on a 2007 SS Supercharged.

It will not work on a supercharged.
I asked tom at ced about 4 years ago about this kit. And he said it only works on cobalts that came from factory with the option of command start.
My dealer also told me the kit was not a command start module but an addition to the gm command start kit. It adds range and two way options to the factory commands for vehicles that have the command start option.
No manual car had this option nor does gm have bypass modules to make it work. Not to say its impossible..... Just the aftermarket is probably a much simpler solution.
It's too bad...

With a manual, my guess would be the neutral safety switch bypass and it would work.

Yes and no. GM made 2 kits. This kit is for cars that never had the remote start (Not what you are talking about). Reason it comes with the hood latch kill switch and all, new brain, and antenna. The other kit was half the price and was for extended range and the digital key to check cars vitals and such with a plug in to the existing antenna. On my G8, it can roll down my windows, tell me tire pressure, how much gas I have, etc. Along with locking, unlocking, and remote start from like 2.5 football fields away. The OEM range was like 30 feet on a good day.

Not sure what type of bypass is out there for a manual Cobalt, but my old C6 Vette had remote start and it was a 6 speed. Took a little work to find, but they are out there. I always left my car in neutral so I knew it would never buck from using the remote start. But GM never made a factory remote start for a manual. Chris88z24 could be the first in the Coballt/G5 community to do so.

It is listed above. It is a kit, not something I put together.
2-Way Advanced Remote Start 19213691

Item 19213692 is for people who have remote start already. Runs $100 cheaper. The kit I am offering is 19213691 which has the hood latch and such.
