E85 is like $1.29 here right now and will always be cheaper than regular pump gas, and it is the equivilent of 107 octane, it opens doors for more tuning and greater power increases.

you get way less mileage with e85. so the price difference does not really make up for it.

is that with 100% e85 or a mix of gas and e85? read this article. they got 26% less fuel economy with e85 http://www.edmunds.com/advice/altern...3/article.html

e85 is probably part of the economic downturn because of the prices that it raised buy corn five years ago then buy some today.

you consume about 30% more fuel with e85 which is why you need larger injectors for it.

Pretty much here's my consensus on the matter:

using e85 as alternative energy -

using e85 as cheap race gas -

100% e85, My dad drives like 20 miles out of his way every 3 or 4 days to fill up.

Bullshit....

Plus corn isnt the only thing they can make e85 out of, They can make it out of a special grass and even have a way to make it from trash. Its just there isnt enough interest in e85 because 1, American's are ******* dumb. and 2, because nobody carries e85

how exactly is that bs? and how exactly do you get ethyl alchohol from trash? Corn may not be the only crop ethanol is extractable from, but your certainly not going to get it out of old books and pop cans

the best alternative power source for cars is straight electric

Are you ******* kidding me? Wow... How exactly would e85 allow automakers to "try and curb there requirement for more fuel efficient vehicles"? And how are they making serious money off it?
