Dave, post pictures of the car when you get the springs installed. Is it an LS or LT? Then you should actually see some drop in the ride height. Good luck and see you around!

^ It should lower the base models close to an inch shouldn't it? I know it's not a low drop but noticeable

I just got 18" rims for my base, they're gonna look banging. But I'm afraid with the huge gap the base models have it's gonna look horrible.

My stock struts/shocks have 100k miles on them, do you think SS springs would be too stressful on them (they lower about 1") or I shouldn't think about lowering unless I get new struts/shocks? (fe5)

Another question, what's the difference between struts and shocks? Do I need 4 struts and 4 shocks? Cause I saw a "complete" set selling here with 4 springs, 2 struts, and 2 shocks? The shocks go in the rear and struts in the front? So confused when it comes to these 2 parts...

in our cars the fronts are struts and the rears are shocks

Thank you man! That just cleared everything up for me haha i guess every car is diff.

Now the only question I have is... Should I get stock SS springs and put my rims on (considering my stock suspension has 100k miles) or should I replace struts bc the 1" of lowering will be too stressful for the struts/shocks?

honestly id do them both not because it would be too stressful but price wise. at 100k im sure your struts and shocks have seen better days and you will probably need to replace them anyway soon so buying the package will save you money IMO

also remember you will want an alignment

Yeah I guess that's true. I think the alignment is done within 1 week after installing the springs I believe. I could install them myself but I think I'll just have the shop do it for me if it's a decent price.

What's your estimate on price that I could get some fe5 struts/shocks for in this board used with low miles?

Now that you mentioned it I can also tell that my car over bumps and crappy roads is pretty uncomfortable. An upgrade would be nice.

EDIT: This is the set I was talking about: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/part...prings-270204/
So that's fe5 springs/struts/shocks all together?

Late response to this but figured if someone actually used the search function this might help...

Check the part #'s.

only the ss/na front springs are different. Rears are SC's. At least thats what I saw based on the part numbers Maven posted up
