For Sale LSJ Custom polish/black winkle paint valve cover
LSJ Custom polish/black winkle paint valve cover
Did this one the other night, have another one just like it only needs to be painted, already polished. Let's get them sold!

$120 shipped. Will refund you $40 for your old cover if you wanna send it back, so you'd be getting this one for $80 shipped only.
I've done a couple of these, they look sick in person, there is no way to photograph them and really do them justice, everybody who has bought one has flat out loved it. Locals who see them are blown away. Awesome dress-up piece for your car, no matter what color scheme you have currently.

It's not worth it, and it won't look right. I'm sure I can find a local shop to polish it if you want, I don't have the facility to polish something that complex. Especially not cast aluminum, which only looks average at best anyway.

Sure, i'd do the other one that hasn't been painted and then paint it, as the welding would obviously destroy the painting, but i've welded fittings on LSJ valve covers before. This is the last one I did:

What do you mean wrinkle graphite? Only wrinkle paint I can find is black. I could do regular gunmetal gray or whatever else.
Add $30 plus the cost of whatever fitting you want. I can source one locally or you can order something online and have it sent to me or the shop directly, then i'll have it cut and welded, re-polish the heat discoloration and prep for paint.

Same way you polish anything else, sand it down starting from very coarse to super fine, then buff with a cloth wheel and rouge until it gets nice and shiny. Aluminum is a bit of a bitch since it is so soft, you really have to go very fine. I can polish stainless steel from 400 grit paper and make it look like a mirror, but aluminum I usually hand sand to at least 1000 before polishing so you don't have to fight small scratches.
Just painted.
If it was all polished it would be significantly more expensive.

Sold one, one left. Still hasn't been painted, so if you wanted another color that is possible. Or if I paint it it needs to sit and cure for at least a day, just FYI.
