I'm willing to trade out my stock radio and $40 and the other stock cup holders for the back.... just for these two parts

 

im pretty sure i have the mp3 radio, i will have to check this weekend, i replaced mine, but what am i going to do with the cupholders, i already have some....

 

From my understanding the stock radio cannot be used in other cars unless purchased from the dealer since the radios in our cars are encoded to our VINs.

 

i find that one hard to believe....

 

well the way i see it is if you will do the switch i'll just give you the stock radio and $40

 

Look in the Cobalt Owners Manual, I am 99% sure that our radios are encoded to the VIN on our ECUs

 

ok it's like this i'm reading my manuel ..... the only problem i can see with the swap is that i would have to take it to the dealership to get the radio messages re calibrated other then that it is good to go..

 

i will be home friday, thats where my deck is, and my ss...... i will confirm it is an mp3 deck, which i am about 98% sure it is, and then let you know, you pay shipping?

 

ive got a arm rest if your interested , it was a tan 1 that was painted black , it was from 1 of gravana's sema cars

 

ok here's the deal my stock deck,$40,and back cup holders were for the mp3 deck annd arm rest plus that paid shipping for both.... but if you make me an offer of what you would like we'll work things out from there...

I think they are VIN encoded, and if you try to put it in a diffrent car, the radio will self destruct and blow your arms off and you will have to get fake arms like in that movie The Butterfly Effect

no seriously guys come on are they trully vin codedbecause that wouldnt make any sense because then how the hell are they suppose to replace them if they ever did break at the dealership

 

i mean i can see the purpose of the vin in case some wise butt wanted to steal the stock raido and pawn it but what else?

 

the only reason they arent easy swapped is the theftlock feature, the dealer can take care of that no problem
