Surprise for a Soilder!
Surprise for a Soilder!
Hey everyone! I need some help!!! My fiance is gone for 11 weeks at Fort Leonard wood, MO doing his military training... I really really want to surprise him by having his Cobalt fixed up and looking new again! I don't have a TON of money since I just had a baby and have been on maternity leave, but I will try to come up with enough to get the parts I need...
SO here is the list of parts.. (must be for a COBALT SS - no other models)
Front Bumper
Rear Bumper
Interior Trim (black - not grey)
the piece around the sun roof button - it fell off and I lost it..
and Black/Smoked Headlights
The car is also getting repainted and windows tinted too... eventually
Thank you for your help!

Wait ... unless he's National Guard or Reserves? And then even that depends on slot availability in your area......
Oh, and good luck with your search on these parts .. I'd help ya out if I had anything you were looking for that wasn't attached to my car.
Unless it's in his contract (which I'm 99% certain it's not) I wouldn't get my hopes up about this ....

Talk to the Crate Engine Depot Rep on here for the Front Bumper, Read Bumper, and piece around the sunroof button. As for the Trim you might be able to find a set in the classifieds section. I'm pretty sure there are many sites that sell the trim already painted black also, just gotta find them. As for the black/smoked headlights, you can also look in the classifieds section
Unless he's NG, he's not reclassing in a year. Good ol' recruiter's advice eh? "Oh yeah you can reclass in a year, no problem!" Haha.
As for the parts...check local junk yards, usually the cheapest place to get things like bumpers and random trim pieces for the interior.

Ya my recruiter told me the same thing bout reclassin lol I got my sunroof hung that fell off.. I was always talkin bout puttin it back on, but I think ima jus fab somethin up.. I can send it out to you in a couple days
Dealerships sell that piece around the sunroof button for $5 and change.
I just picked one up a couple weeks ago and glued it on with emblem glue.
It's solid now.
GL with the rest of the stuff you're looking for. I'm also looking for a ss front bumper, and they're very hard to find.

ill help u out a bit with the sunroof bezel. dealer should have that for around 4 bucks any chevy dealer might have to wait a couple days for it, but it will be better then paying someone shipping and a little cash. sorry dont have any of the other parts
u can go through the dealership to find any trim pieces you want. in pretty much any color you want they dont have alot o custom colors but all ur basics they do have. as for the head lights check ebay or zzperformance. i also believe andysautosport.com is a website to find cheap body parts, they also have few other things. just look around ive pretty much got a list of stuff im already getting just by looking online.
try car-part.com, it links together a lot of junkyards inventories and makes it easier to find
I just picked up a set of black housing headlights on ebay for $130 so not too bad, I suggest adding HIDs while youve got those out though, try ddm tuning
body panels are almost always cheaper from a junkyard, just have to worry about repainting them
