this would be a good setup to run the phase 5 type water-air intake manifold on

The same way it cools the air coming from the supercharger. The laminova cores in the intake manifold help cool the air that goes in it.

Where is the cold air intake located on this setup.... directly off the turbo?

Yeah I was planning on just putting the filter on the turbo and run it like that.

do you currently have supercharger parts? i'm really liking this setup but don't quite have 2 grand right now. would you trade my blower setup(2.8", 60s, m62, stage2 belt, 2.0L idler pulley, R.A.W. 3" intake, Hahn header, Hahn downpipe) plus some amount of cash?

do you know what the iat2 temps were with this set up. it just seems like they would be really high without a front mount. And how does it not fit an ion? Seems to be the same thing if it doesnt go to and from a front mount. Is the hood lower to the engine on one? Thanks!

The temps will be fine with the stock h/e. This turbo isn't going to run as hot as your temps from the blower with a small pulley on it. If you wanted you could even get the zzp front mount and run it from the stock h/e right to the front mount then to your ic pump...that would lower your temps pretty well and still use the stock intake manifold as the intercooler.

You don't see near as many turbo builds that have to run meth to keep the temps in check. If they do it's more for power only, or a higher meth perentage and not much water.

the reason it did not fit the ion is because the ecu is pushed over more towards the engine then the cobalt's is.

So if you ran a front mount and didn't put the piping the same way it would work.........

If you used a front mount, put the piping around the passenger side going into the IC then out of the IC on the driver side into the TB it could work on an ION.

What I got from his previous statement is that it won't work on an ION in the current set-up because the ECU is too far forward.

Oh...well I'm not sure how much different they are you would just have to do some measuring...but idk of any air to air intercoolers that have the inlet and outlet on the same side...even so, running it from the passenger side out the drivers side should work just fine because you wouldnt have the ecu to worry about coming from the bottom. You can make anything work really. Just all depends on how ambitious you are.
