Also curious if there's any new news on these. I'd be all for a few new cf additions to the car.

BUMP...JUST TALKED TO THE SHOP, PRICE IS $500 PER SET FOR A GB OF 15 OR MORE, ANY TAKERS? We are not going to make a prototype unless we have buyers, trust me this would be great quality for DD use, I'll get pics of his work from his Scion TC.

I can't release the shops name because they are not a vendor, but just to give you an idea of there work they are working on Kobe Bryants Porsche as we speak, and just finished Derek Fisher's car as well. The shop manager just took First place in his category at HIN too.

I would like to have cf inserts but that is to steep for me. I much rather have a CF trunk for that price.

agree'd that's way to much for door panel inserts. I'd buy a cf hood or trunk before those. or maybe the ottp stage 1 kit for that price. damn

I'd say maybe $250 would be fair. It's not like its a huge amount of CF like a trunk or hood would use.

it's not as simple as just doing an overlay. Since the stock piece is leather, you actually have to make a mold from fiberglass first, then cover in carbon....that's the reason for the cost. I'll talk to them and see what they can do.

250 to make a fiberglass mold, and then a cf mold? materials alone cost that much. Keep in mind these all have to be custom made, not mass produced like the major companies

If company's can make a cf hood for 500 to 600 bucks door panels should not be that much.

from what I understand is that every pair would need a fiberglass mold to attach the cf overlay to, just like a hood or trunk. I'll have to speak with them again...I'll let them know 500 is too steep.

I'll see what I can find out. I know that the piece would completely replace the leather cover, so it's not just an overlay over the exisitin leather, it's a complete replacement
