I am looking for a g5 trunk. i dont care if it has a wing or not but i would prefer black if at all possible. the g5 trunks dont have the reverse lights and i think it looks good smooth. pm me if you have/know anybody that has one. thanks. here is a photoshop i found a while back of what im wanting the final product to look like except i am putting my stock highrise on as well ...

 

arent the reverse lights in the inner tails. how do you plan to implement those

 

well lol i plan to actually do away with the reverse lights completely. i thought about just buying some rectangle piaa's and smoke them and try to place them about in the same area as the g5's but im not sure how that would look. so i think im just going to do without them first and see how that goes. has anyone else done this ?

 

I have thought about this in the past. Best thing to do is to locate some autozone lights behind the rear vents on the stock body kit. Rather easy and will work fine if you want to do whats in the pictar

hahaha i know. im good friends with the lieutenant in town ... but i dont think any cop would ever pay attention to something like that. but who knows my luck i would get pulled over the same day it gets finished. i was backing out of my parking spot today and i rolled forward a bit and there was a metal rod coming up from the median and it hit my lip and tore it all to hell ! i was the guy who had the lt front bumper on my cobalt ss/sc and i just bought the lip and ss/sc bumper from gm and had it painted TUESDAY ! a total of $1200 ! and today, 2 days later my lip is already messed up. i might post pics so everyone can cry or laugh. depending on who you are ....

 

There was a guy selling a black wingless G5 trunk lid not too long ago. You could see if he still has it.

did you plug the holes in your trunk yourself ?

 

Yep. They're plugged with the rubber things that hold the mat onto the trunk lid. I just sanded a couple of them down, painted them 95U silver, and stuck them in there. They're held in with wing nuts.

Works great. They look good. I'm having the holes filled and painted this summer, so I'm more than happy with this for the time being.

What if you put some C6 corvette style reverse lights behind the mesh on the rear bumper.

 

so you want a shaved trunk sorta like mine

 

i kinda want to do g5 tail lights and paint them so all you see is the circle.but keep my reverse lights and shave the rest of the trunk..they look smoother than the cobalt and i think they would blend better yet still be able to look good w the inner lights..and my inside lights are running and brake lights as well...i think your idea would look good tho, with a smooth bumper and trunk tho, not like the g5 reverse lights which clutter the bumper a bit...just my.02

 

YES ! since your pretty close to me you should totally sell me your trunk and instead of going wingless like other people you could go trunkless !

 

Thats the problem, no one yet.....I am having to send pics to companies that make our tail lights and see if they will make likes like I have in the pic......I photoshoped those on my car
