FYI: You do know that the LSJ DP will not just "fit" in an auto equipped Cobalt, right? You will need to get it altered at a muffler shop -- unless you can weld yourself.

Yes...the auto equipped engines are positioned forward and lower then the engines in manual equipped Cobalts. The LSJ DP is shorter by about 1 1/4" and because the engine sits lower the converter will rest on the sway bar. See my thread in the 2.4 section "2.4L Auto DP Vs LSJ DP ". The trouble I had installing the LSJ DP in my 2.4L auto has been confirmed by a 2.2 auto owner as well.

i didnt know that i ve noticed that the lsj engines sit further back from mine so i understand what you re saying i just never thought that the dp would be shorter on the lsj thanks for the input man i appreciate it i guess then the dp will have to wait im gonna have to cut it weld and extra piece and then install it

I didn't want you to get one and then find out you have to modify it to fit. I found out the hard way...$$$! It is a worthwhile mod...the LSJ cat flows about 60% more than the LE5 cat.

The 2.4 auto DP pipe is 2" OD -- measure your Dp's pipe diameter. If it's smaller than 2" OD (like 1.75" OD) then the 2.4 DP would be a small improvement.
