WTB Stock LNF Downpipe

Hi all - Looking to buy an LNF Sedan, and most of these have an aftermarket DP, which makes smog difficult in CA.

Thanks - Matt

ZZP has this.

^^^^^ that wont pass smog out here. Has to be a factory one or one with CARB compliant cats.

I also asked ZZP if they had any stock ones by chance. Answer was no.

Dont quote me on this but you may be able to have a CARB/OBD2 compliant cat added to your current DP and it may pass that way. Might have to talk to a muffler shop to be sure. The stock LNF DP has 2 cats on it so I am not sure if you need one or two to be legal that way. I am sure most smog guys wont know they had 2.

my friend in California had his cat stolen and insurance replaced it with a dorman and his car passes. so i dont see why you couldn't weld in a cat that is carb compliant.
may have to keep the receipt to verify the cat part#

Good to know. Thanks. I can pursue this avenue if needed.

Thanks. That's good info too. Glad there are people here to rely on for all this info.

I knew the emissions were bad out there, but dang.

Thanks! It's already sold, but looks like the FB parts groups may be a good bet. I'll post some WTB there.

This is CA we are talking about. Nothing makes sense. The people over at CARB probably think using aftermarket windshield wipers causes more smog....

I'm tearing down a vehicle and *might* have a stock DP for you. I'll check tomorrow afternoon and let you know.

Sweet! Thanks for checking.

Just to let you know, stock LNF down pipes are very much in demand right now because of the increased value in precious metals in the cats. I've read they can fetch 5-700 USD. Needless to say they are probably hard to find right now.
My car doesn't pass emissions with my Hahn hi-flow catted down pipe either. I've always had to show up with a stock dp to pass emissions here in Colorado.

The smog has been bad this year in DFW for some reason. You can just see it.

Thanks for the info. I joined a bunch of the CobatlSS FB groups and found one just today. There's actually a guy there offering up to buy DPs, maybe to do what you just said. I asked if he had any for sale, and he didn't respond. He is offering $250 for the LNF ones in his post.

Anyway, just curious if you have to do anything to your tune when you get it smogged with the stock DP. My car is stock, with just a drop-in K&N air filter from a previous owner. I have a tune from KMO43, but I have to swap back to the stock tune for the emissions readiness O2 sensor to show 'Complete'. CA only allows the EVAP monitor to be incomplete in order to pass.

Thats good amount of money for them tbh. Sucks that its going to be even harder to find stock downpioes after this. Im holding on to mine for sure now, I think ibgot it for like 100 bucks like a year ago

Matt

Just got in from checking mine and it's a test pipe. :( Explains why it's so loud and rich. Sorry I couldn't help.
