yeah, there are alot of people who post without reading the thread, and all it does is make themselves look like a fool haha.

Lets forget times for a second and compare the two cars.

Jase ran a best of 15.4 at xx.xx mph

I ran a best of 14.23 @ 101.49 mph

That is a difference of roughly 1.2 seconds between the two cars. That difference wont change if the altitude is different.

I think it is fairly safe to say that you can gain a 0.8 to 1.0 seconds in the quarter mile by installing stage 2.

Some people just dont understand the whole altitude thing in general. Try this:

The same car that runs a 14 flat every single time at sea level is loaded into an airplane (the exact car-not one like it) and is brought to a track high up in the mountains, unloaded, and ran exactly the same way by the same driver will never, NEVER be able to run a 14 flat. It will most likely be a 15 second or slower car at BEST due to the air being thinner higher up. An engine needs air to mix with fuel to create combustion in order to run. When the air is thin, the engine has less air to use therefore it cant breathe the same as at sea level, much like mountain climbers gasping for breathe while climbing, theres just no air up that high .........

ya i'll admit to poor driving

considering it was my first time out in three years and never drove this car on the track... like jekyl said.. my first run was 15.4@92.22 and the only good run i had...

i was getting really upset cause no matter what i was doing, it just didnt get any better... i'll try again soon.

i think its cause you just up and go

you dont think about everything

with the runs after... i kept trying to get better at reaction times and trying different rpms..

i think im not going to worry about reaction time and rpms and just go next time

What meets, when and where? And are SRT's allowed? Were all friends. The SRT's meet wednesday nights at 4 corners (75th and Lemont rd) behind the White Castles. Would be cool to see some of you guys show up ....

VERY nice runs. This was the first stage 2 video I've seen, I'm definitely impressed. A full second drop with retaining the warranty is no small feat!

hm, I may be racing a stage 2 in the fall...this makes me think I may need more mods. Props to both owners, give em hell!

edit - and I understand the elevation thing, I have it to an extent, but it's 1800' instead of 4k...but it is frustrating to explain, but keep it up guys!

The stock one just got a really bad launch it made the stage 2 car look like a rocket besides the stock one.

Good clear video though but it really shows how much of a difference the driver can make.

thats exactly what it is....... i know the owner of he red one personally, and he had a shitty night...

not to take anyhthing away from the stage 2 guy, but had jase been driving properly, it would have been a closer race.

Even if Jason had made his best run on that race...(15.4 ) I would have beat him by more than a full second. a 14.2 to a 15.4 isnt "close" if you ask me lol. The race where i beat a mustang GT convertable by a couple thousanths of a second was a "close race" lol

Edit: I now see that you wrote it would be "closer" not close lol, So i would agree that it would be a closer race... but in no means would it be a "close race" haha

I bet a S/C SS could not break into the 14's up here. Jase wasn't too far off--should be a bit quicker then 15.4

What are the breakdown of both of there timeslips for the run in the video. That can show the difference right there. One could have gotton a 2.1 60' and the other a 2.5.....its all in the driver.

The Stage 2 car is definatly faster no question about that but this just makes it look really really really good.
