Hello all,

For starters I own an 07 cobalt ls 2 door I picked up for my girlfriend since she totaled her car and she wanted me to build it up a little and bring it back from the dead from the hack job the previous owner did to it. The new job has put a little hold on it but its starting to come along, I will get some pictures up of whats been done so far.

Lets start buy saying all the wrong when I picked it up. It had 3 of four parts to a gay body kit, big aftermarket ss style spoiler, shitty tint job, interior was trassshhhheedddddd, grimy sticky, full of dirt, cig burns, ect ect...... aftermarket hood that he bedlined for some ungodly reason, leds under the dash and im sure a ton more.

So far I have stripped the interior, pulled off the body kit and spoiler, put on a factory rear bumper, and retinted the windows 5% all around. I found dark gray seats, glove box and under steering wheel panel. I cleaned and dyed the carpets black, painted the plastics inside the car black with krylon fusion black, re wrapped the rear deck panel, headliner, and door inserts with black suede and installed her double din. So far the car is on its way to looking a million times better. Painting the car and lowering it are my next steps. after that will be the stereo.

Looks much better still needs to be lowered and to switch the wheels out though. Remember me from your initial thread?

 

Looking way better than when you got it. Plans for any engine mods?

Suede always makes me think of Snoop Dogg all dressed up in a pimp outfit, dont ask why because I'm not sure myself why. Sweet transformation looks unrealistically clean, but unless your gonna do engine mods its 'Murcia rice. Not hate just saying.

Yeah I remember ya haha, think you had a red cobalt right? did the 5 lug swap? Yeah I bought paint for the car so it will be repainted shorted just a black metallic. rims will be painted as well and used as winter wheels. I have fe5 struts and a set of lowering springs (not sure of brand) that I will be trading for a little bit of car audio work im doing for a friend who went to coil overs so it will be looking much better !

 

Most likely no, Only because its gonna be the gfs ride and she has a lead foot and a bad temper so Id really like to see the car last her until she finishes her degree, otherwise id go turbo but Im saving that for a 4th gen ls camaro with a 78mm turbo setup

 

Yeah its most likely gonna be all show no go, got bigger plans for a go fast car, plus like i said its for the gf. Other than the exhaust thats about all the performance mods its getting. Just want something that looks nice with my personal taste. All black, low, and sleek without standing out to the cops.

Interior will be reinstalled soon as I have a little bit of time, along with paint and being de badged. The headlights are aftermarket but one has a crack and they are hazed to all hell so I may retrofit a set, soon as i do the car audio work for a friend ill have the fe5 struts and lowering springs, the wheels are going to be painted black and used for winter wheels, Id like to find a set or 17/18s with a basic black 6-9spoke style. Now since this is going to me my gfs car there will be a hint of purple around the car but tastefully done and wouldnt scream out homo if i happen to be driving it haha.

I planned on painting the dash trim and radio bezel that separates the top and bottom dash and doing it a candy purple and have it hydrodipped a carbon fiber pattern as well as the plastic engine covers. When i get to the stereo aspect the aeroport will be done the same as ill be building a 4th order bandpass enclosure. and the final touch of purple will be a set of purple lug nuts and thats all she wrote.


Now I do have a few questions for ya guys:

1.) Do they make sun visors in another color such as a dark gray or black?

2.) How do I go about being able to use universal shift knobs without buying a short throw shifter and where can i find such an adaptor

annnddd 3.) I dont want a whole ss body kit, just a front ss na bumper cover, where is the ebst deal on one, ive been trying local everywhere and no luck

Ok little update and prob last one for a little job as i was promoted at the job and have a ton more on my shoulders and am on call 24/7 .... it blows


Anyways The interior was re-installed after i did the headliner and deck and doors in suede, led dome light, painted dash in purple for the gf, dyed carpets, new seats from another car, alpine inw w910 double din, tinted windows 5% all the way around (visor to come soon) and fe5 suspension with cheapy lowering springs. Car looks so much better now, still needs a good buff for now and paint in spring time as well as a little bigger wheel. The ones on the car will stay for winter wheels and will be painted black when the car gets repainted. Will be donig either 17 or 18s, may place around with some factory headlights and retro fit them.

I have a short throw shifter that needs to go in, paint in spring, new wheels in spring, eventually do my system done in it and in the mean time ill be looking for an ss na front bumper and wingless trunk deck, lets get some views and comment on it

Thanks man, and I will be come spring, They came on the car so they will be the winter wheels, When I paint the car im painting the wheels to match and just go all black. I would like to get something in a 17-18... something simple 6-8 slim spoke wheel.

 

For gods sake take that chevy emblem off the trunk. Other then that very nicely done!
