1967 Camaro
1967 Camaro
I posted this over on our local forum and thought you guys would enjoy-
Yea so as many of you know I was out of town this past weekend at the NHRA Mid-Summer Nationals in Topeka, Kansas. My dad and I stayed with our old neighbors and family friends, the Tostos. Vince is the father of Tim and Todd that raced on PINKS in their hugger orange Camaro, and 1968 Firebird, respectively. He was running his 1967 Camaro in the Super Street class. This is basically an anything goes 10.90 index class, dominated by pure race cars/trucks usually capable 9's and running delay boxes, trans brakes, automatics, etc. Vince being the badass he is runs a street legal, registered, full interior, 355ci, 4-Speed, no-E car, not easy. He qualified 18th in a 50 car field and advanced to the 3rd round (13 remaining cars). In the 2nd round he ran a perfect 10.900, and would have won $1,000 cash right there (because that is ridiculously hard to do) if he had the appropriate stickers on his car. He broke out in the 3rd round by five thousandths of a second to another Camaro that went to the semi-finals.
Anyways, you can tell from the pics that this thing is WAY cleaner than most cars you find at this kind of event and is more than capable of taking home show trophies. Enjoy-
