2004 GTO vs. WRX STi

Found this on Google videos. The GTO is stock besides a catback exhaust, the STi has an exhaust and a tune.

The STi gets him on the launch (no surprise there) but after that its all over

I think the STi only hit his brakes when he realized how fast the GTO started reeling him in. I suppose he figured there was no point in continuing to race when he was going to get walked hard anyway. Its kind of like the ricer flyby, jump ahead and then stop racing before you get passed, so you can claim victory

Is it just me or did he wait to let the STi get ahead. His car makes no noise for the first second. Once he starts to go....well damn the GTO is one hell of a car.

Ive had this happen a lot lately. I car will beat me out of the hole due to wheel hop or whatever, and when i hit 2nd i start pulling him in hard, but they tap the breaks before i pass them LOL

To think I almost bought an '05 with the 6.0. Glad I chose the SS S/C, I'd be broke right now.

i think that's the case b/c you hear the GTO owner say, "Come on let's go.....go" and it seems like he waits a little bit...not much, but a bit

I like it in the begining if you look in the rearview mirror you will see the subaru sti i think. That's pretty sick how they did that.

Yeah I noticed that too. It matched the music really well, that big fin mysteriously showing up behind you. That was funny. Those phoenetics of the WRX in the previous post was funny too. Duba Arh Ex...priceless.

Yeah some but some 04 GTO's went 13.3 in the 1/4 mile, and i'm not saying one person did that, i'm saying like 10-15 people with stock 04 GTO's went either from 13.1-13.4. Check the ls1 gto forums. Also, the guy in the video gets a pretty sick ass launch. So who knows.

Umm no. First of all mid 13's in the 1/4 mile isn't slow, and second of all you can see that the car is an STi by the rear wing. Regular WRX's have the smaller spoiler on the back.

Why do people always need to make excuses?? The GTO won because the driver knew how to launch and it was obviously the faster car, and extra 75WHP goes a long way.

^^^What, do you think WRX owners don't stick an STI wing on there cars? Ya right, that's like saying an Cobalt LS with an SS wing is an SS/SC just because it has a wing! Are you that clueless?
