2013 CSS.net Calender DISCUSSION thread

i had thought about these two. the first one is again (to me) a nice shot just not submission worthy. the second one i like cause its different but the light made the picture turn out weird.
so i decided to go with the engine bay hoodless picture.

ouch! I have a hard time getting the right exposure to properly accent my black wheel but also dark enough to burn the sky...I could only imagine with a dark car like your AND on a flat-light day AND a picture from far away...must be difficult without photoshop

Of course! I think I'm going to take more pictures for the calendar though, I feel as though my car is a little small in my submission. What do you think? (it's near the end of page 2)

if you have a camera capable of it, run atleast a 3 exposure bracket....you would then merge this into an HDR shot...this is pretty much the only way to do what your looking to do.

3. Pictures cannot be edited beyond improvement of clarity, no photoshopping stuff into the pic. (Yes I acknowledge that I did poorly on enforcing this last year, it won't happen this year)
hdr is beyond clarity in my books.

an HDR done properly is a great image allowing for the greatest amount of detail. the HDR's that are taken to the extreme's aren't my taste either.
and was just telling the guy that the only way to get the image he wanted would be to do atleast a 3 bracket HDR shot.....

iBoost: if you can see this: take a couple more shots like the one you have but in 16:9 not 4:3. And also retake that picture making sure you car isn't dead center in frame..usually makes it not very pleasing for the eye unless it's an up-shot or symmetric shot. I know you did it in the picture, but in case it was a fluke, try keeping your horizon at about 1/3rd up to guarantee a nice background and exposing your car properly. I really want you in the calendar, so good luck
