8000k vs 6000k

Just wanted to post up my expeirence on HID's. For those that are still wondering the truth behind what temp produces the highest lightout put and the whiteish colour. Heres your answer....

When i had my cobalt i installed 8000 HID. Thought they were the best, so when i bought my 370z it came with 4300k and i swapped the bulbs to 8000. Same thing with my ZX6R, 8000K HIDs.

However i wanted to do something different to see if it infact does make a difference. I installed 6000K in my lowbeams and fog lights on my truck. Not only is it pure white, but i can see alot more. Signs on the road light up more as well. Here is a quick little snap shots...

Sorry for the bad pic, thought i still had my other picture of it...but you can still see the HID

ZX6R with 8000K, notice the blueish haze.

And now 6000K

Overall im way happier with the 6000K. Dont have the blueish haze (it was alright on the cobalt and bike when it was blue) And i can see abit more.

I use 5k and they put out more light then 6k. Had 6k in my 06 SS and 5k in the 09. 5k is the whitest light and the most ouput from my experience.

I disagree, I believe 4500K is the whitest light output.

Brightest is 4300k, and that is what all OEM HID setups use. You'll like the attention of 8000k for a few min, then after a while you'll realize it's better to have functionality for something as important as headlights.

nice setup thedude. iiunno, personally the 4300 look just as bright as my 6000k's. I guess it all depends on the brand name. I know 6000k by 2 different brand names (say DDM Tuning and Silver Eagle) are abit different.

I can see alot better with the 5000k on my Z as opposed to whatever the stock HIDs were. I am guessing 4300k.
