CAR DETAIL DAY!!! Pix taken on 9/26/07
Well heres the story:
My buddy Lenny has been rambling on about all these crap products to use on his car, since he's never washed it himself; due to his parents being wealthy enough to afford their own personal car detailer to show up on a weekly basis. So, I thought I'd do him a favor and show him how to really bring out the true shine of his car. I managed to do a quick detail on mine afterwards for a photoshoot.
Product used: One Grand
Lenny's hood
My hood
Lenny btw is a really good family friend of mine, who I happen to have known since he was practically able to walk. Not only did he learn how to properly detail his car today and knows not to shop target ever for any car cleaning products, other than diaper towels. But, he now has a sweet ass ride too!

Well I was planning on using a digital cam, but Lenny's parents took it with them on their vacation!!
All I have is a 1.3 mega pixel razor camera phone...
Thank you for the quick comment! I like to think my car wins

I would agree your car wins since it's an SS but I am such a sucker for G35's. I love'em.. Lexus is300's and g35's are up on my top luxary car list. Two lucky dudes there..

Hey hey... be nice
Sorry to hear that; it takes me a good 3 hours to 4 hours to fully detail a car. So I know what you mean.
Thanks for input on the rims!
Your crazy Jeff; your www.cobalt-addiction.com, gotta represent!
But those G35s and G37s sure are nice

Certainly,
I used a product called One Grand. Its a family owned business out here in southern california which you could only purchase from on the internet or straight from the factory.
Here are the steps:
** - Do not do the following in direct sunlight. - **
1) Rinse car well
2) Using a wash safe mitten, whipe right side section of car, rinse, whipe front section of car, rinse, etc..
a)One Grand makes a soap for the car that doesn't sud like crazy in the water, to make you think you have a good soap. Instead, you fill up the bucket, pour no more than an ounce into your wash safe mitten, and squeeze the mitten together in the water until soap is dissolved in.
3) Dry using Chamee or Obsorber. (Obsorber works better)
4) Take duster or large microfiber towel to surface of car to remove any fallen dust particles.
5) Apply One Grand Omega Glaze; this stuff you apply once a year. It is a high gloss paint polish. It soaks into the oils of your paint, giving you that wet look.
a) Apply to surface of the car by section using a polishing rag or diaper towel. (Ex. Right side, left side, hood, trunk & wing, and top of car.)
b) Buff out completely using multiple polishing rags or diaper towels.
6) Take about 5-10 minutes to rest. Your gonna be hungry or thirsty.
7) Apply One Grand Blitz Wax to the entire surface of the car. Blitz wax is free of any abraisives or cleaners. And should only be used on well upkept cars free of any surface dust, and polished with omega glaze.
a) Once blitz wax is applied; let stand for 10 minutes or so until wax begins to frost white.
b) Grab multiple polishing rags or diaper towels, and buff out.
8) Apply One Grand ERV dressing to tires with spreader; for the added wet look. Btw guys, this stuff dries and keeps your tires looking wet without leaving that filmy ressidue.
DONE!
I recommend you let the car sit for an hour or so to let the wax settle. Especialy if it is very hot where you live. Other than that your done! As for the washes following the detail; One Grand also makes a show off spray, which you apply to the car every time you wash so that you maintain your bad ass detail.
Highly recommend this stuff guys. You won't find it at Target or any retail store. If you are any where near Ventura County in SOCAL; quickly toss all your current cleaning supplies and drive over to the factory in Ventura to get set up with the right cleaning gear!

You got a point!
I could only imagine what you would turn a stock G35 into...

Isn't the G35 pretty close in comparison to the 350Z? If so, I believe the G35 will beat the cobalt SS/SC in a stock for stock race. But then again, it depends on the driver.
