CavalierSS

I know its not a Cobalt SS, but its as close as I will come to the real thing. Maybe I'll have the money to pick one up myself. Hopefully by then, the white colour option will be available in Canada.

I had a pretty quick cavy as well at one point, but no use in calling your car something that it is not....its a z24 not an ss.

White has been available since 2006. Oh and your title is misleading... The Cavelier's "roots" have nothing in common with the Cobalt as far as I am concerned.

Yes I meant the white SS/SC models - hopefully they'll make it to Canada in a few years.

As for my car, its a 2.4L LD9 with the Roots Blower - ranges to 6psi for the little thing, but its a nice upgrade for the engine. Stock with the blower I can run high 14's easy. A few little things here and there, and some engine work and I'll break 13's no problem.

There are some 12 second blown cavy's on the www.j-body.org site - many have retired though.

I'm just glad that GM finally decided to produce a car from factory with a blower kit that any average guy can purchase, instead of owning my car and waiting years to get a blower for it.

Thats what I had before my SS, a black 01 Z24 with the GM Supercharger kit. Even tho my Cobalt is far superior to my Z I still miss that car.

Even though I'm getting my 07 SS S/C, in my heart I still wish I had an 02 LS Sport with the GM S/C. *sigh*

Nice cav.

I'd trade my cav in any day for an SS/SC, I just cant part with it just yet. A blower whine is too much fun fro a car that isn't really supposed to have it.

the cobalt is basically the replacement for the cavalier and sunfire after 2005 so i think it obviously has something to do with building off it.

Other than being GM's most produced econobox, designed by the same teams, built at the same plant with the same tooling, both utilizing Ecotecs and respective transaxles, also some with Eaton M62 blowers, almost identical suspension setup, other than that, yeah not much in common.
