looks pretty good, maybe one day it will happen...

My big thing with electric cars is distance, you cant drive 400miles, stop & get "fuel" and keep going, you have to stop and charge the damn thing for 8hrs. Plus there is the issue of longevity with the technology, eventually as you charge the car its going to hold less and less of a change nature of batteries; so after 5years, for example, you will have to have the entire battery system replaced, which im sure would be $$$.

i kinda have a little chuckle at all these granola crunching hippys buying hybrids though.

they all have this snotty ass nose in the air attitude, like they are so environmentally concious. and better than everyone.

Little do they know that hybrid cars leave a LARGER carbon imprint on our planet over their life than a regular gasoline car.

Hybrids are a very poor joke at best.

True!the process of manufacturing one makes more emissions, the volt not supposed to be the same though.

Electric cars are a stop gap fix to vehicle emissions.
I work at a coal mine, trust me, i know exactly where electric cars get their power.
and its not cleaner than gasoline roflmao.

hybrids, electric, hydrogen....none of them truely do what they claim

they just produce the emissions somewhere else in the chain.

Just cuz it doesnt come out the tailpipe, doesnt mean its "green"

that may be true, but coal/natural gas/other kinds of power are produced in much greater quantities than the power produced by an automobile engine. isn't coal power catalyzed in a similar fashion to automobile exhaust with some sort of 'scrubber' material before it gets put into the atmosphere?

(no, i'm not being sarcastic... that's my knowledge on it up to this point and need some input from someone in the business)

and besides... i rather like the thought of being able to drive to and from work in an electric car, and when i get home, plug it in.

i would like to see the tradeoff between the increase in your electric bill to your home versus how much it would be to just buy a really fuel efficient gasoline powered car (non-hybrid).

mainly, i think the Volt looks damn cool.
