Customizing my SS/SC 18's

Well, I'm finally getting around to refinishing my wheels. I had them sandblasted and I'm painting them myself. The barrels up to the lip will be flat black and the faces will be bronze. I will post the updates as I go along.

Rattle can paint? Or spraying them with a gun?

Rattle can. I'm not cool enough for a gun yet. I'd like to learn someday though.

Those look great. Makes me want to redo mine. The powercoating is chipping badly.

Use satin black instead of flat. Flat is a dirt magnet and it will start to look blotchy with shiny spots after a while. I would just do them all bronze.

Well, it is satin black wheel paint. It's not gonna be blotchy. Don't worry, I planned ahead, lol. Oh, and to those who asked, I'm using Rustoleum Exterior Metallic Antique Bronze for the face of the wheel. The inside is Duplicolor Wheel Paint Satin Black.

Well, I got one just about done. I need to wait for the clear to tack up a little before I take the masking tape off the inside.

Here's one primed and wet sanded, ready for bronze.

Here's one right after the bronze.

Don't pay any attention to the hair, it's already gone and fixed, lol.

Well, here's the first one finished. I realize my masking line isn't 100% sharp. I just ran out and bought a new brand of tape, and I will make sure the other 3 turn out much better. This one will just go on the passenger rear, lol. But, i like the look. It's subtle, and just different enough for me. I can't wait to get the others done and mounted.

I think when I read this, I assumed the lip between the spokes would also be black.
