Im curious as to what the function of these tire/rim setups that have the rim protruding out much further than the tire, it doesnt sit flush. What is the point of this? It looks so stupid. And isn't dumping a car to the ground giving you pretty much no suspension since the tire has nowhere to go up? I mean i cant see how there could be any travel due to the rims almost sitting inside the wheel wells already...i dont get it someone fill me in.

First one is a Saleen S7. American Hand made twin turbo super car.
Second is the Saleen s281. Saleen's mustang conversion. 478hp supercharged v8, upgraded suspension, wheels, brakes, interior, appearance, etc etc etc
I'd probably take one.

A **** TON of wasted money is what I see. Only saw one or two posted that I would rock.
This is about as hellaflush as I would do. When I get my 5.0 this is the look I'm going for. I'd put it on coilovers though so it could be dropped another half inch or so.

hellaflush came from some countries in Europe have a law that the tire tread can not be outside the fender. people still wanted really wide wheels so they stretch the tire over the wheels so the tire tread is still in the fenders. stretched tires = no tickets

JL-KA thanks for answering my question.
I agree with your taste on how far a drop should go with your example pic. I personally love the look of a car that has the perfect size wheel and tire in relation to the wheel well, with justttt enough space to slide a finger between the tire and wheel well. BUT not make the off-set too much so that the wheel can still utilize the wheel well area for suspension travel.
