I think its funny how everyone is talking so much ****, but if someone very respected on this site like witt or area got one, everyone would be creaming their panties. Dont worry I have the csrt as well, and I had a cobalt. I like the csrt better. Why? You arent getting any more than 300ish hp on the stock blower, im going to get 400+ on my stock turbo. Its going to cost you 2,000 to get that much hp between the pulley, belt, injectors, tune, intake, exhaust, headers, downpipe, meth, spark plugs, and probably nitrous. Its going to cost me about $800 to have 400 ponies for a downpipe, k&n, stage 1 pcm, injectors, and some tuning. I throw $2000 into my motor and get 500hp, you get 300. Thats why I got rid of the balt. You either have to go turbo, TVS, twincharged, or whatever else to get some serious HP. Not to mention I can take the wife, 3 kids, the groceries, and the dog for the ride of their life.
First off, I'm not talking **** about the car. I said that those cars have tons of potential and can be made rediculous fast, but I just don't like the style. It's an aggressive looking car, but an ugly hatch.
Second, around 300ish WHP on the stock blower is correct, but come on, it's a blown car. TOTALLY DIFFERENT than a turbo car. Throw that same turbo from the Caliber SRT-4 on the LSJ and you might have a closer competition than you think.
$2000 for pulley, belt, injectors, tune, intake, exhaust, headers, downpipe, meth blah blah blah, LAUGHABLE. If I actually put 2000 dollars into my car, I'd have about 600whp. If you want proof, I'll pm you the budget plan.
For reference, I've spent 900 on performance mods, an additional 400 for 16"rims and slicks. I'll be right under 300whp and running mid 12's easily.
FYI, I can also take the wife, 3 kids, groceries, and the dog out for the ride of our life in the cobalt. Do it all the time.
Don't get so defensive so fast. You can't go posting a caliber srt-4 on a cobalt site and expect to get mad props. We are cobalt ss lovers, not caliber srt-4 lovers. Sorry, truth>you.

^correct.
i have $907 bucks(brand new parts) in my car and yes supercharged usually cost more than a turbo car but i have over 300whp. ran mid 12's. mods are in my sig. they aren't much but driver mod.
in the end just a tune on your car could get it close to 300whp probably with an intake and a couple other parts. there is no doubt you car can be faster with the same amount of money. looks wise though... your preaching on the wrong forum. everyone is used to seeing cobalts and not a neon or caliber.
in my eyes anways like i said on the first page i think. nsrt-4>csrt-4
caliber is a box. no looks or style to me. no sleekness. nothing going for it. not appealing to most people. ask around on the srt-4 forums. most even who have calibers say neon 4's are better

it's still a wagon. 4 door car plus a hatch = wagon. A powerful very quick wagon though with lots of potential.
this is an epic post of FAIL

Holy crap. Did you take a detour through la la land on your way to candy mountain?
2k in the cobalt will not net 600 whp. Are you on crack? The LSJ is not very reliable past 300 whp. Hell, that crappy tranny in the LSJ was rated at 350 whp for max reliability. Anything past that youre looking at running the risk of needing a new transmission. How the hell do you get 600 whp from 2k? Please elaborate for the entire css.net community. When I had my LSJ, my build book recommended forged pistons, neutral balance shaft and valve springs just to run 300+ whp safely from the stage 3 kit. Let me price that out for you:
eagle pistons: $900
valve springs: $500
neutral balance shafts: $400
stage 3 PCM: $300 ish
N20: $400-$500 for a GOOD KIT
Labor: Quoted me $900
soooo, thats: $3400 for a tad over 300 whp, and reliability.
2k? I dont think so. Youre VERY confused if you think you can make 600 whp on 2k.
If everyone could make 600 whp for 2k, why arent there more SS's doing it? Also, that 300 HP is WITH N20. The CSRT4 is straight up STOCK turbo. What u think will happen if they run some N20 through the CSRT? Yeaaa, no competition from the SS.

Pics of it look nice!
Also not a fan of the Caliber at all, but the Caliber SRT-4 is quick none-the-less.
I love those 19" rims!
Is the hood functional at all? It's pretty sweet looking.

honestly if it weren't for the drivetrain that car would lose 80% of its appeal.
i'm still confused as to what this vehicle is. An SUV or a hatch? I think if they could've pulled off a hatch like the MS3 it would look way better.
I do like the rear end though, and the front even but the mini SUV look kinda kills it for me.
At the end of the day though, I'd take one due to its power potential

i personally still to this day don't love LOVE my cobalt. it doesn't even look at nice even with what i did to it. same with rsx's i used to own one. even it all dressed up or clean i personally don't love it.
an evo 8 or 9 is what i love and anything but that just doesn't cut it.
neon srt-4 looks nicer than caliber srt-4 imo

I halfway agree with ya cbod, I do love my car though. I'd like to put a tad bit of money into the exterior though. But I really do love my car.
But, an evo 8/9 is a passion that won't go away. One day, I hope to own one. I've always been a dsm guy, and a evo 8/9 would be the ultimate. 4 doors, AWD, and a dsm motor.

I hope you are being sarcastic? They are a box w/ 4 doors. If they would have never come out w/ an EVO trim for the Lancer, tell me you would not even look twice at that car. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome cars, but for me it's like 90% performance and 10% handling, where I view even my Cobalt as closer to 50/50 perfermance to handling.
