Cool First pics! *no 56k!*

So I tried out the AutoDry thing today, did a half decent job. I'll use it if I need to wash my car in a hurry. Country well water doesn't do well with the AutoDry.

I also had my car in at the autobody shop to fix this. You'll see my driver side rear bumper is clean again! The only thing missing is a little chip out of my tail light, but one day when decent LED tail lights come out, I'll replace it. I like the look of the stock ones. LED in those would be nice.

In the future I want to get bigger rims.. the base base are ugly as hell. Maybe even the stock SS/SC rims or the double spoke (if I'm calling them the right name) rims. 16" or 17" for sure. 15" is too tiny on this car! I won't be lowering it... we get a lot of snow out here in the winter, and if we had a snow storm I'd be screwed. I think I'll be getting underglow (yeah, yeah, rice. whatever.) one day. If I can find a cheap set of stock head lights, I'll buy 'em up and paint them myself... seems that would be the cheaper way to go than buying the euro black ones. Halo doesn't really look too good in my opinion.. makes the car look stoned. :P

Anywho, here's my pictures!

That's right out front of my acreage.. if I would have washed it and then went down that road it wouldn't have been as shiny. :P

The insurance thing is going well, haven't heard from her parents. We told the insurance companies that we're dealing outside of them, so they don't really care what's going on now.

Jn2, the only thing that's stopping me is the money factor!

Yeahh Chad! Nice pics, keep up the good work! You cannot, however, get SS/SC rims cause they are 5-lug. Not to worry, there are many more 4-lug options, even a few "twin-spoke" options out there.

good luck with the no insurance help..............

to start modding, get a head unit & speakers at the same time, not at two different times (trust me on the speakers). then get some headlights. then wheels & tires............... then go to performance stuff.

i would sell u my rims, but you live too far away.. black enkei pkr 17"...........4-lug too. had them on my balt before i sold it.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. I'm glad I don't have the 5x110 pattern (or is it 5x100?).. I guess there aren't too many options out there for that pattern.

I dunno about that. It'd look great tinted, but the thing is is that I dunno what the tint laws are here in Alberta exactly, but I think you can't have any on the front windows. I'd be really mad if I paid for my tint and ended up with a $100 fine or something crazy like that.

Thank you! I've lived out here all my live, it's quite beautiful scenery all year round.

Thanks for the tips! I bought some interior lights off eBay, just waiting on PayPal to clear the payment. My next mod will either be the headlights or a head unit + speakers. Kinda excited to have my car the way I want it! What do your rims look like? Like this? http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/w...s/enkeipkr.jpg

It's 5x110 and their options are pretty limited.

Correct, no tint allowed on the front. Lots of people do it though, and you can generally get away with 35%. Depends on the cop I suppose.

I have a friend with a Cobalt SS/SC and she's tinted hers... but hers is a coupe so the cop might look at it differently... a sedan.. I dunno..

Exactly like those, but 4x100. I traded my balt in for a mz3 so they do not fit sadly. The mz3 has 5x114.

A cop is more likely to pin an SS/SC (assuming it has the high wing) then your sedan. Those are relatively flashy cars.

to a cop:

sedan with spoiler = slow
coupe with high rise spoiler = speedy & wreckless

us:

sedan w/ spoiler = better insurance and less attention from cop
coupe w/ high rise spoiler = insurance more expensive, but can be worth it for the cool factor.

Too bad you are so far away, I like those!

Having manual windows makes it even more vulnerable though, I can't roll down my front windows if I do end up getting pulled over in time.

I know, I know, but I can't lower it when I know there's gonna be 1-2 feet of snow on the gravel road. The grader doesn't come down it the day of the snowfall when it does snow, either.

Thanks! I love the color! I just need to wax it to give it it's shine back again.. been only washing it since I got it. (March 2008) It's needing it... swirl marks are starting to show. Any suggestions as to what I should use to wax? Should I hand wax or give it a nice power shine?
