Got alot done today...Eibachs, Sway bar and Hurst Shifter (56k, grab a beer)
Well before i went over to my parents for mothers day, I was able to get everything done that I wanted to. Installed the Sportlines, which was a breeze, I was surprised how easy it was to this car, only took me about 3 hours to do all corners. Installed a Progress sway bar which was pretty simple too. Also installed the Hurst shifter. It was a little tricky at first trying to figure out what the directions were talking about (the directions sucked, BTW ), but I got it in there, reverse lockout and all.
Just taking the car for a quick spin, I could definitely feel the car handles a lot better...I will know more tomorrow on the way to work. There are some nice turns getting on and off the freeway. The shifter feels pretty good, shifts aren't really that much shorter, but they feel a lot better, doesn't seem to be as much play as the stock shifter. The 1-2 shift feels 1000x better, I think that is worth it right there.
Here are some pics at the house...I'm going to try and get some more scenic pics later this week. Enjoy!
My favorite pic:

Here is an attempt at getting a pic of the sway bar. You can kind of see it a little.
I have hi-res pictures (6MB) if anyone is interested. Thanks for looking!

I got my HURST shifter installed last Friday and my review is about the same as yours. The shifts are a tad shorter but the feel is alot better, much more solid than the stocker. However my reverse lock-out is not working, any ideas on that one? I followed the directions and also some advice on here but still the lock-out isn't functioning

You probably just need to adjust the left cable. What I did was uncliped the connector, and moved the shifter slightly to the right of where it naturally wants to go and then set the clip. It took a couple tries, but I got it eventually. Just keep playing with the adjustment on that left cable and you will get it.

Same way you adjust the other one. Just unclip the connector and then it will be free to move wherever. I just moved mine a little to the right of where it wants to go naturally and reclipped it.

I never adjusted my shifter cable, i taped it off so it would just stay in the same location. I've done a few STS before and this has always worked... not on the Cobalt though lol

Basically, if you are looking at the shifter, above the plastic retainer with the 4 screws in it, there it that section of the shifter that moves up and down with the reverse lock out. On the right hand side there is the part of the shifter that is cut out so there is a little slot. What happens is when you move the shifter all the way to the right, that little wedge should hit the plastic retainer on the right. When you pull the reverse lockout up, it should go over the plastic and allow you to move it down into reverse. It is hard to explain on here...Just take the shift boot off and look at it. When you move the shifter all the way to the right, it should hit the retainer. When you pull up on the reverse lockout, you should be able to move it to the right and slide it down.
