Angry I am a F@(%!&$ Idiot

So today at lunch ******* sucked. I go to get gas, and the place I always go to ran out of 93.. so I go to another gas station. Im pulling away from the pump and there was a truck parked at the building in front of me so I had to turn tightly to pull out. I decided to go right to go to the car wash... shoulda gone left. Apparently there was small pole/guard thing sticking up and I ******* rubbed against it. I have had my licence over 7 years now and have never hit anything. Not even curbed my rim or anything.. Stationary objects have not been an issue. I am not ******* happy.

In the pics, my door is all the way shut...

those little poles are at every gas station Ive ever been too. You know how I know??? When I had my other car which was a coupe with huge doors.... Id open my door into that pool every now and then... that always made me mad. Thats what happens when you have a car with the gas cap on the driver side..

Oh jeez, I just realized who did it, lol. I read the post but not the OP's name!!! sorry about your door jazersss.. are there dents all along the spot where it rubbed?

The skirt & 1/4 panel/lower rocker panel have the most damage... the door is sitting straight.. the 1/4 panel is dented in.

Yes each spot where the dirt is rubbed away, where its scraped, there are smaller dents, basically in the shape that you see. Other than the fact the 1/4 panel is bent in on top of that.

I see the bent 1/4 panel... maybe you can use a dent popper and pull that dent out... otherwise maybe this is a good opportunity to try taking a can of compressed air, flipp it upside down and spray the liquid oxygen around the dent in a circle.... (or it directly on the dent I forget) and see if the metal condenses and pulls the dent out. Look it up on youtube, there are example videos. I dunno what it does to the paint but from the looks of it that paint might be F*cked.

The side skirts are a pliable rubber plastic, I bet you can take that off and fix the molding behind it.

Never heard of that. I also think that if the rocker panel wasnt bent to **** under the skirt, it would help the skirt sit straight.. Im less worried about the skirt as I am the 1/4 panel. I think that even If I get the majority of the dents out, that body line that flows from the 1/4 panel to the door is fucked, on the lower edge. I just cant see it looking right without being replaced.

..But I do appreciate the positive comments, gives me a little hope..

I really wouldn't worry about it. That's definitely an easy fix. Don't sweat it man.

Nah... I mean, IMO it should be taller, maybe painted yellow and not gray, but it was my mistake. If the truck hadnt been in front of me, wouldnt have needed to turn as tight to get out... shoulda woulda coulda.. in the end, it was my bad. Just sucks.

Guess everyone does something stupid at one point. Just upsetting because I've worked really hard to get the car to where it is, mechanically and visually... I rebuilt it 11k ago and as Mkulrey knows, it needed a lot of TLC... So its just more upsetting that I did that to it after all the hard work put into it.

ok, so i have to say it

im sure this sucks, i was pretty upset when i hurt mine too
but really? get over it...you sit here and act like its the end of the world in your original post...
not only is it just a car (beleive me, im not underestimating your love for your car...i do too) but the damage isnt really that bad!! your door is fine, the qtr panel will need some filler and some paint, and the side skirt probly replaced.
its not the best situation, and you are owning up to it just being a mistake. but seriously...you need some better things to worry about

that being said, good luck getting it fixed and i hope you can make it look new again.
