I missed the loud growl of my SRI

So I made a SRI/CAI hybrid. It's both!!!! (Y pipe connecting both) AND IT'S LOUD AS HELL!!!!!! Now all I need is a heat shield from K&N to complete it! You can't really see the CAI since of course it's in the fender but it's down there!! I'm using the gmpp intake filter for the CAI.

Thanks. Now I can enjoy the benefits of both SRI and CAI!

Yep! Does anyone know where I can get just a heat shield from K&N? And if it will even work? If not is there maybe something else I can use or even make?

Doesn't that defeat the purpose of doing that intake in the fender? LOL

No? It's still pulling cool air from the fender...

Does the SRI cause less vacuum on the CAI against water?

looks like it would just bypass the filter in the fender and use the sri since its the closest to the tb

It shouldn't matter I have the cai raised up high enough to prob never get any water on it at all unless I go thru a flood then maybe.

I don't know about that, it's louder than when it was just SRI so it's gotta be pulling both.

thats actually pretty cool cause if your filter does get wet in the fender then it will get air from the top filter....great idea imo!

I doubt he'll get a check engine light from two filter, I have the CA front mount CAI and the filter is freaken huge and mounted right where it would get the most air and i don't have problems out of it.

Dude, if you have a dyno near you. Try a run with just the sri on there, then with the cai on there, then with both.

If you did this, you would be like setting the groundstone for a shitton of people.

I understand that the air now will never be as cool as just a CAI but it will still be pretty cooler air than a regular SRI especially when I get a heat shield for it. I guess a medium temp.

Actually I had the splitter pipe and filter sitting in my garage for a long time from the taurus. I did however spend money to make the CAI. the hybrid conversion was free

I got the GMPP exhaust on my future list and that's performance. Once my warranty is up I'll tune and do other things.
