Actually, they are rated for 20MPG... Some get more, some less.. it depends on your driving. The gas prices don't really matter a whole lot, I still drove when they were at $4.50 a gallon. By the time I get my truck, I'll probably live about 2 miles from work. instead of the ~20 miles now.
Or a white sheet over the car. Pretty damned lucky!

i was in the straight lane going straight - grand am was in the left turn only lane and went straight
when i yelled at her for not knowing how to read a sign , street light or arrow on the road she replyed " well i didnt have my signal light on to turn left so i thought it was ok" .... OK THEN!
$2868.11 in damage . new fender,front bumper.
and after
i hated the front plate and i wanted the ss/tc grille and my bumper was full of rock chips so it worked out good for me.

don't know how I missed this thread.
I was going around a left-hand slightly downhill curve. It was 19 degrees out, guess I was going a little faster than I thought, but not near as fast as I normally take it. The ass end starts coming out from under me, I regain control for just a second and she goes sideways into the grass embankment, catches and rolls over. I wasn't really hurt, just a good smack to the back of my neck. Total loss, but they valued it more than what I originally paid for it, so made for a nice down payment. Unfortunately couldn't find another used SS anywhere close to get, but happy with what I found (sig).
Somehow not one piece of glass was broken, not even the sunroof. 2006 SS/SC.....Onto the pix:

How on earth did that Saturn hit that dumpster on the drivers side door? He must have been flying and then instantly started to go sideways infront of the dumpster at atleat 30+ mph..

Hey just telling the truth , My Cobalt is a lemon.
Why lie about it?
Isnt that what this forum is about, to tell people issue and talk about the cobalt in general?
take a look in the problem thread.
These car are infested with issues and GM does nothing to fix the problem.
They know these car have serious axle issues, tranny,so on (wheres the recall)?
If your cobalt has been reliable and had no problems then you got lucky.

Unfortunately, I understand where you are coming from. I bought a Sharp LCD TV two years ago, and the board crapped out after 6 months. I vow to never buy a Sharp again. I'm not saying that ALL Sharps are crap, I just happened to get a bad one. But that one was enough to prevent me from buying another.
But, I find it hard to call this car a POS when:
1) It's gotten such great reviews from respected industry publications.
2) Given the amount of Cobalts sold, the few issues (that I've heard of) that effect the whole line of cars.
Another thing, you mentioned that the only thing GM improved for 09 was the breaks. There are new axles, which are an issue for those racing on slicks in 05-08 Cobalt SS's.

I've posted this up before but not on this thread.
This happened last year during a windstorm that blew through this way.
I was in the car, about to drive it into the garage when half of the tree next to it came the hell down on me. 5 grand worth of damage.
