Talking Jannetty Track Day #2

Well, it was another great Track Day sponsored by Jannetty Racing! I finally got around to putting this together after 6 months. The temperature was at least 10 degrees lower than the last track day, which was undoubtedly one of the reasons I finally got into the 15’s. I learned my lesson from last time; I made sure I took out the spare and had much less fuel in my tank. My 60’ still wasn’t great, but I was able to keep most of my runs in the upper 15’s with a best run of 15.70 at 89 mph. Not too shabby, but I’m looking forward to doing better in May at the next one. Anyways, on to the videos.

Here is Ted Jr. with his turbo MR2 that they just finished before the Track Day. I was told that this run was on 13psi. They cranked the boost up later on, but then he had tranny problems. They fixed that, and it now will run 10.6 all day long. I’m looking forward to see this one again.

Here is Ted Sr. with his ride. A 502 boosted by a centrifugal supercharger powers this beast.

This was one of my favorites to watch. Not your average S-10 that’s for sure.

Here is a bike running on alcohol. I was watching from the staging area on his last run, and he almost lost control at 100+mph but was able to correct it. You definitely need some guts to do this on a bike.

I convinced my friend Dan to go to the track day, and he enjoyed it until some of his wiring burnt out. Good thing there was a Napa just down the road. ☺

But, on to some nicer car. Here is a Goat (68 or 69?) vs a Viper.

Here is one for you Mopar guys. There was a really good mix of cars so it was always interesting to watch while your car was cooling down for the next few runs down the 1320.

There were a couple of cars running 8.4s that day. Of course, they were Chevy’s. When driving back on the return road with these guys roaring buy, you get goosebumps. I love that sound!

Not to forget you SS/SC guys, here is Ted Jr. driving the SS with his sister in the car. I think the SS’s have a hard time at Lebanon getting into the 13’s in part because of the altitude. This is a stage 2 car with a Corsa cat-back.

A couple of clips of the old base model. Bear with me.

This is what the Vibrant header/dp with GMPP touring sounds like on a 2.2 at WOT. I’m considering getting another resonator so I don’t sound as much like a Honda. BTW, the noise at the beginning of the clip isn’t me. I wish it was though.

Me vs the SS. Ted was taking it easy, because his sister had been beating on the clutch that day. No more problem though because they just installed a CM FX400.

Two more clips. Again, there is a pretty wide spread of vehicles at these Track days. There is always something interesting going on.

Well, that ends this part of the JRE track day series. For anyone within driving distance of the Lebanon Valley Dragway, be sure to check check this out. It will be held May 23rd in West Lebanon NY. For $100 you get to race all day and you and a friend get to have as much food as you want from the concession stand. (I got 20 runs in. I would have gotten more except for the Napa trip.)
I’m definitely going again in May. Hopefully the turbo SS Ted is building will be there. If it is, I will post the vids.
For the guys that are going to the Dyno Day at JRE, the track day is the week after. That way we can see what your #s really translate to.

^^^Sweet! I didn't know they were taking pictures! The 'balt sure looks out of place with all those other cars.
