I feel the same way. I was expecting no low end on the SS S/C. Then I drove it. Look at the factory dyno curve from gmtunersource.com

First, I love my SS. Its perfect for what I need, and will be better when I go stage II. But.....wathcing a car pull a 1/4 in 7.7 seconds can't NOT make me (or most of you, I assume) drop my jaw and give me the tinglies in my pants lol.

Those cars rock. I am sure LOTS of $$$ went into them, and I thank them for giving me joy just watching it. I'll spend my other places (like a mortgage).

BTW, this is a HUGE file.

sorry guys, not knocking you're cars at all. after meeting a local guy with an SS/SC that knows how to drive it, i have a new respect for them. but my car was rated at the factory with 300ft/lbs and i still think thats a little skimpy. i'm sorry, but 200ft/lbs is not what i think of when i think of torque. even if GM did underrate them, its not the same. please dont turn this into a big arguement, its just my opinion.

Blah, just give it a few years and these little "domestic rice rockets" will be showing some #'s.

For a 4-banger it is quite impressive considering most don't make torque til about 4k-5k rpm.
I do agree with you it's not as impressive compared to the LS2's 400 ft-lb.
