Looks awesome! I've had some issues getting red to look right on sunny days, tends to get blown out. Feel like sharing any hints?

Well its a 50 minute drive from where i live, so i didnt wash it until i got there, and used a crappy touchless wash because its what i could find. It actually did a decent job, except the dryer didnt get the ledges on the rear bumper dry enough and the dirt in the water dried like that. I didnt think to bring an rags or anything with me, but oh well. It only shows in a couple of them.

Edit: oh, and the tires are a little dirty in a few of the pics because i had to go down a gravel road to get a few of those shots.

Yeah often times it gets really pinkish... the D50 helps a lot with that, but even then, I bumped the contrast just a hair in photoshop to help with that.

I agree w/ everyone else. Probably the best pics I've seen on here since I've been a member. I know from personal experience how difficult it is to get red cars to look right, so I give you props. Perfect location as well, it's always a good idea to choose a background that contrasts the color of your car. Once again, excellent pics and you have my vote for featured ride.

the D40 is a slightly watered-down version of the D50. Nikon used to have the D50 and the D70, the D70 had a few more bells and whistles, but both were nice. Now they swapped those out with the D40 and D80. Again, the D80 has all the bells and whistles, but the difference between the 40 and 80 is much bigger than the 50 and 70 (not just mathematically, lol)... The 80 is still pretty much pro-grade, but the 40 has been made idiot-proof for the soccor mom type. Basically its an SLR for people with no SLR experience - a point and shoot type camera. Still a great camera, and a big upgrade from a regular digital if you're looking for an SLR. If you're looking for a D50, good luck. They're hard to come by these days because they were discontinued a while ago. Sometimes Cord Camera can get there hands on refurbished ones, and they're good at camera restoration. If you want an SLR, and can't afford the D80, try the D40. Its not bad. The Canon Digital Rebel is nice as well, but I'm a Nikon guy myself.

I already commented once on these pics but I just noticed your front plate, it looks really slick there! Just thought I would let you know that haha.

Also, I am deciding if I want the nikon d40 or d40x, trying to figure out if the extra $$ is worth it for the d40x.
