My car is being used to promote headlight vinyl on ebay! WTF?

So I had a deal/partial sponsoship with Headlight Armor awhile back, and they gave me a discount in exchange for providing them with pics of their product on my car for their site. I just got on ebay to find out someone is using me car for their knock off version of headlight film now! WTF?

Call up the company and tell them that you want some royalty rights or to remove the picture!

even though it might suck...its legal as its on the internet and anything you post up is fair game...so it would be hard to dispute.

I really don't care since I've since taken the tint off anyhow! I was actually looking for the OEM style painted black headlights they have on there now because I just don't want to tear mine apart even know I have two pairs of them! I just found it rather amusing that my car is on ebay.

not true as long as he can prove it's his car by taking the same picture with him next to it and then showing the ebay link they'll see it's his car

nahh hommie, she is right, once something is made public like that it is fair game.. especially since it is not being used to defame him..

I had the same issue with extreme dimensions. They were using my car to photoshop in their awful spyder 3 hood. The idiots forgot to chop out the garage door. I talked to an attorney friend of mine and since the pictures are not copyrighted there is virtually nothing you can do worth your while, except email the company telling them that the picture was used and that you will take legal action. That is what I did. However, you would spend more in attorney and court costs then you would actually get. Good luck

Like I said, it doesn't hurt my feelings and I'm not getting all butt-hurt about, I just thought it was interesting. Sorry to bother you then!

As a side note, they photoshopped my buddy that was in the driver's seat out first though!

actually your wrong...its ebay and ebays rules trump most everything lol..all he has to do is email ebay and tell them that a vendor is using his pictures and the auction will be pulled. and every time they reload it just email ebay again and keep gettingthe auction shut down...thats way better than suing them...

Don't do it! I took mine off so I could see at night time again! They darkened the lights so much at night I had to turn on my fogs just to see! Plus, it's a pain in the ass to get them on without any bubbles.

Anyhow, I just hadn't made my own thread for anything in awhile and when this came up I figured I'd share it. Seriously it's not a big deal to me. I just found it comical more than anything. Imagine logging onto ebay and typing in "Cobalt" to see your car up there. At first I was like who the hell is trying to sell my car on ebay?

I actually have no idea how to do that! Car won't look like that pic anyhow when I get back and really doesn't right now for that matter. Out with the old and in with the new hotness!

I would let Headlight Armor know that these people are stealing their product images of a car they own the rights to. That should settle that!
