My truck cammed-n-slammed..
http://media.putfile.com/06-silverado-cam-soundclip
haha just kidding..it's not my truck but ironically it's exactly what I am planning to do to it minus the slammed drop (I'm looking more for a 2/3 inch drop) and exhaust dumps..mine will be true-dual. Same TR224 cam I will be running as well.
Whatcha guys think?

Tofu, if I was you I would get longtubes first and run open headers, you lose low end, but the sound is awesome. I think I can hook you up with some websites for parts. My brother has a Avalanche with a 5.3 w/ intake, longtubes, flowmasters dumping, and a diablo tune. He bought the intake, diablo tuner, and thottle body spacer all in one package for around 450 bucks. Will get the website for you.

Ahh, man I am good with V8s! I guess its all those times helping my friend change heads, and cams, and pistons and everything in his old 383 stroker '81 chevy. It had 11.2:1 compression and a 229/229 582/582 cam and it sounded similar to that, just more wild because it was carbureted so it didn't have cats or anything like that.

Only a couple, huh? You crazy ******.
That cam should do nicely. I'd also recommend a set of LQ4 heads as well. I believe they should fit that block...but I could be wrong.

Yeah they will fit. The L33, LQ4, LQ9, LM7, LR4 and LS1 are closely related in terms of interchangeability. An LS1 intake will bolt right up to any of them, just have to re-route the accessories, all the heads are interchangeable, you could even buy some headers for the LQ4-9 and use them on the LR4 lol.
The stock heads from the LQ4 won't make much of a difference on the L33 or LM7. The LQ4 and LQ9 enjoy more power from the bigger bore size and the LQ9 has flat top pistons for a higher CR which gives it it's 345hp 380tq. When warranty is out I plan to swap out for an LQ9 as people are running mid-high 13's with no other modifications other than the motor swap. And the best part is since the motors are so closely related it's a direct swap. You can even retain the same wiring harness. All you have to do is reprogram the PCM.

Biggest difference is it's an iron block vs. an Aluminum one w/ Iron sleeves. Some interesting things though is the heads flow nearly identical to the LS1 heads (exhaust side flows slightly slightly less) and the truck intake manifold has been tested to flow better than the LS1 intake. Not sure on the LS6 intake though.

If you plan on swapping out to the LQ9 powerplant (which is a great idea) then yeah, I wouldnt bother doing much to this motor. Not unless you'll be using any mods from the motor and swapping them to the LQ9.
I've also got an LQ9 in my Seirra 2500 HD. It'll tow a house...and then some. Although, it'll only do low 16's in my tank of a truck.
