New interior pieces

Cause "Santa" is the man.

I got an alcantra black and orange shift boot, and a hurst t handle to replace the factory pleather and plastic that was falling apart.





Thoughts?

I like the shift boot, but I think that shift knob belongs in a late 60's muscle car, not a Cobalt

Pistol grips are only for 2 speed drag cars, heh.

Yes, it really is a 5 speed. I'll never own an automatic. I like driving stick too much.

I may go to a classic white Hurst ball. I like the T handle because I have big hands and its easy to grip, and really easy to shift with. My old man had them ion his Shelby's and its got a retro thing. I like it, I know some don't.

As for installing it? All i did was use a really good quality die set. I cut 1/2-20 threads down the stock shifter. Took maybe 20 minutes. After the threads were cut, run the jam nut down and the Hurst shifter comes with a thread adapter (The T handle has odd metric threads to fit on a firebird standard) Get it run down and in position, and lock the jam nut, and the shift boot is tied to the Jam nut then.
