New Ride 07 yamaha r6

I got rid of the 07 drz 400 Supermoto and picked up a 2007 Yamaha R6 in Candy apple red. It's basically stock and very different in every way from the old bike. After being on this i just can't understand why anyone would need a liter bike. This thing blows my mind.

I kind of get it now. I was riding the other day and I hit the limiter and right then I thought, "Wow, I guess I know why people want more".

You'll get used to the power. Looks like it has some nice additions as well; framer sliders, pazzo levers, m4 slip on, fender eliminator..pretty much everything anyone would do you dont have to worry about now, which is convenient. How many miles and how much did you pick it up for?

And for the street, people like 1k's due to the greater amount of torque which allows you to be lazy with shifting..something you cannot do with a 600. To make a 600 go you must constantly be shifting. An r6 has a very very peaky engine with all the power above 10k rpm's.

Yeah it has some basic things. I don't think i will modify it any more except maybe a steering damper if I get into racing it.

Your right about the peaky power. I read a review of the 07 super-sports and even though the r6 makes the most power its behind all the other until the very top.

My friend had an 06-ish R6. I agree. When I was on it, I thought the same thing. You can kill yourself at any moment. lol

Enjoy it. Can't wait to get my 600..

Yea which makes it a difficult bike to ride for the street, but on the track is where it is home so I would hope you plan to track it as thats all its good at. Definitely not comfortable for 200+ mile rides lol How many miles are on it?
