New VIdeo on Stage 6

Here is a testimonial from John Discepolo. We did his wedding over the summer. People that watch sports and/or the news in the new jersey new york area should know him, he does the sports. He was on Fox 5, i THINK he's on ABC now. If you watched the Giants parade a few days ago, he was the guy on the streets interviewing the players.

I'm loving this stage 6 if you can't tell getting a little better with the quality as well.

why? that doesn't make sense

1) it's a WEDDING which means the girl is taken
2) said girl lives about 2,000 miles away

you can watch this one, no girls! it's the opening comedy act i filmed at the international film festival.

stage6 is a great site. I'm looking for a wedding photographer as we speak. Tough finding one believe it or not. I don't like the idea of just picking one from the yellow pages and hoping they are good.

yea, that's not the way to go. when you shop around, make SURE that what you're seeing is what you get. i know around me, many companies put together kick ass samples, but that's not what people get.

ANYTHING that i show people, or put online, is an actual video that the bride and groom/company etc. got. i don't have "samples" per se, i just show something that i did.

Very nice.

Not sure what to do when I get married. I'm a photographer so I'm just going to get mad when I hear the price.

Maybe they could just use my camera and hand it back to me when they are done

yea, it's expensive i don't think i could ever have a "real" wedding. i go to the nicest places in the tri-state area, and the places that i would be able to afford are like **** compared to them. if i didn't know better, i would still think the place was nice, good food, etc. but when you go to all the better places, the other ones don't seem as good anymore. good thing the gf is on the same page with that about a big wedding.

thanks, appreciate it! everything on there I filmed and edited, except for the love story video. I filmed it, but had a buddy of mine edit. I run the video department, so i pretty much do majority of the work.

thanks! i just finished that one last week.

i think one of the big things that makes me different is that i don't pose a SINGLE shot when i film weddings. it makes it look much more natural, nothing is forced, and nothing seems fake. most of the time the people don't even realize i'm there. if you watch, you'll notice there's none of that awkward feeling "uh-oh, he's filming us"

if you guys like the videos, feel free to click on the thumbs up!

so how do you suggest picking a wedding photographer? I don't have alot of time (aug 10, 08) and can't go around interviewing all these photographers.

well i would figure out what you're looking for, and i don't know how you guys do it out in your area either. i know here in new jersey it's different than alot of places in the country. i've done weddings in pa, conecticut, maryland, virginia, i'll be in vermont soon. and every area does things completely different.

but figure out what you're looking for, as far as do you want someone to go take pics of your fiance getting ready? (i would recommend it, it's usually a pretty hectic time, and the bride and family/friends are usually nervous/excited and really appreciate having those pics afterwards.) are you going somewhere after the ceremony for pictures? how long is the day? do you want someone to stay till the very end? (again, i would recommend that, i always stay till the end. always get the best footage/pictures at the end of the night)

make sure you meet your actual photographer, and get along with that person. I don't care how nice the work is, if you don't get along it will be a miserable day. you want to enjoy your wedding, not think about how much you want to punch the photographer in the mouth. if they say you can't meet the photographer before you book, end it there. also, make sure you see that person's RECENT work. look at more than one album.

also make sure that the photographer you meet with is on the same page as far as style. do you want a shitload of posed shots? do you want all candids? a mix of both? do you like a very creative style, or more straight forward pics?

that should be a good start. if you have any other questions let me know.
