Talking New Wheels, Fixed, and Washed!!!

Anyone who has read any of my previous posts knows my car had a rough winter. The driver's side rear quarter took a hit and the front lip was taken off by a snow pile. Well, the time has finally arrived, it was a big weekend. I got my car back from the body shop and my summer tires and wheels arrived. I was so happy I took some pictures. Here are a few of the shots that show the new and improved balt (for more look in the Members Gallery).

Sunburst Orange, so purtty at sundown...

I know, it NEEDS TO BE LOWERED...and someone will say it anyway...lol...

So, the balt is now summer ready and I think she looks good and clean, got a lot of stares and compliments just the little bit I cruised last night already.

And for those curious. The new wheels and tires are: MKW M71 wheels on Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 225/40ZR18XL ordered from BigWheels.net. So far as I can tell the tires stick like glue, they take turns much faster than the Perellis.

Wow.. the same thing happened to my car. Got hit in the rear quarter panel on the drivers side and messed up the lip. Except I have bent suspension components, which leads me to believe the car hit something and not the other way around (this all happened while I dropped the car off at the dealer BTW).

Looks good!

thanks. I figured since I have orange I'd stay away from the usual black rims and see what a lighter color would do, I like the result.

yeah, i wanted to cry. and I feel like I'm driving in a new car again, so that's a plus. But the downside was that to get that "new car" feeling i drove around for about 2 months with my car looking like ass. Not only did I have the winter tires and stock rims on but the car was all busted up... very disappointing.

I had to order it from the parts department at my dealership. There's a sticky on here somewhere that has the part number for it. The sunburst orange was more expensive for some reason, though. I was able to do it with 2 cans.

Thanks. Look at the bottom of the original post, it has all the info for the new wheels and the tires. And yes, (as stated above picture 2...lol) I would love to get the sportlines. That'll be a mod for over the summer once we get this check from the government.

I'd love to get it to the track. I'm talking to another member on here about buying his 2.9" pulley, and it seems the only time he can install it is on the weekends, so if he gets back to me and tells me this weekend then that's what I'll be doing. But get me the information anyway (i'll PM you just in case you don't read this) in case he doesn't get back to me until next week or maybe he can get it done on Friday night.

Sounds good. If you can, try to get it and we can put it on up there. I got the bit for the st. 2 pulley bolts in my car. I can bring along what we need to pop it on, providing yours isn't loctited on lol. As long as it doesn't rain I will be there. Opens at 10, I want to try to get there around 9:30-9:45ish.

Ok, cool, I'll talk to him, he's R&C_rallySS on here. If he can't get it installed for me anytime soon I'll see if he can't get it off his car and I'll bring it with, I could make a run without it and one with, could make a cool post for those considering going 2.9. As for the LocTite, it may be, so bring any necessary tools if he can't install it for me...lol.

No difference that I could notice, it looks like it goes up the same tempo as it used to I guess. The most noticeable difference was the grip. I can take turns like an Indy car, it's ridiculous. I haven't lit them up yet, but just accelerating fast they don't spin like the old ones. Instead i'm back to the clutch slip and wheel hop issue, because they grab and don't want to let go...lol. So, looks like I'm due for a clutch, motor and tranny mounts

Yes, they turn an amber color. I got a compliment on the color (among other things) from a guy last night after I put my wheels on. I went into McDonalds for a drink and when I came out he was walking around my car checking it out.

I agree, but unfortuneately I live in the great state of PA and the law is 70%... and if that's not bad enough they are sticklers for it around here. People have been pulled over for nothing more than tint issues in my home town.
