Nikon D40x can kiss my Canon loving @$$

Canon announced a new Entry-level SLR, the Canon 450D XSi this week, this camera is meant to compete with other entry-level SLRs including the Nikon D40x.

Some key features of XSi(450D):
  • 3" LCD preview screen
  • Live Preview Option
  • Image Stabilized(IS) kit lens
  • 12.2 MP DIGIC III sensor
  • 9 Selectable Auto-Focus points
  • Contrast Detect Autofocus option
  • Spot Metering
  • Auto Lighting Optimizer

Compared to the Nikon D40x
  • 2.5" LCD
  • No Live Preview
  • Standard NON-IS kit lens
  • 10 MP Sony sensor
  • 3 Selectable Auto-Focus points
  • Auto focus only with AF-S or AF-I lenses (Most 3rd party & older Nikkor lenses won't AF w/ D40x)

As far as I'm concerned this blows the D40x out of the water with features and image quality.

CANON FTW

But, not all Nikon's sensors are made by Sony. There D3 and D300 have Nikon Expeed senors

i got a d40x, its nice for what it is, and for only 500 bucks, it's not bad. so yeah it may not be as good as this new canon, it's still a very nice entry level camera, and its almost 400 cheaper.

Sigma is a "name brand", just 3rd party, like Garrett... They are a very reputable company, but im sure he should know that.
