Were you trying to give those an old-fashion sepia look? If so, they look great...

Reminds me of old pics I have of my dad when he bought his 68' Stingray after college. Just with much better focus...

That old fashioned look would work a little better if the colors weren't so vivid, especially on the ones with the old vettes. Nontheless, very nice photos

I set the zoom up first. Use an F-stop around 3.5-4. ISO on 100, and do a controlled exposure with my remote.

basically what drewbroo said. lower your iso if your getting noise and lengthen your shutter speed.

id just like to add on shots like these i like to use hyper focal focusing. research hyper focal distances. it just guarantees everything from a certain distance to infinity is in focus. its pretty sweet since who knows what distance the lightning and going to strike at and this way u can guarantee it will turn out sharp.

ill set up my lens on 17 mm and aperture usually around a 8 f stop. then focus in to like 6ish feet and everything from 3 feet to infinity is in focus. its pretty sweet since it means your foreground and lightning which is who knows what distance away from you is always in focus.

Online Depth of Field Calculator

thats usually the calculator i used at first

i hyperfocaled this and as u can see everything from the grass right up close to the lightning is nicely in focus
