Powder Coated Valve Cover

Figured I'd share. I was playing around today after I mixed some powders together and this is what I got. Let me know what you think.

I mixed gold metallic and transparent blue in with clear.

Base coat is chrome with a transparent blue top coat, followed by clear/gold metallic/tp blue all mixed together!

I planned on doing this on my charge pipes if I keep it this way. It was just an experiment, but I kinda like it!

how did you prep the cover? colors look great, but they will peel off over time if not done right. I received a hardaway pc cover the other day---coming off in strands...

We prep and pc our covers bolted to a cylinder head now.

I prep all my powdercoating with Acid and M.K.E.

Never had any of my powder coating come off like shredded paper like I have heard some do! Its all about prepping!

Yes sir. I may redo this with another coat of clear and mix in a hint of blue.

Shoulda covered the oil fill opening and some bolt spots, but other than that it looks pretty good. Nice to see something different.

I wanted the oil opening to be blue if I ever took it off instead of being plain bare metal ya know. I have my valve breather so its no biggie. Appreciate it!

I just don't like having paint or anything in there that could possibly be loosened up by the oil and end up clogging something up. I also don't care what the inside of my valve cover looks like while i'm adding oil

That's the first time i've heard that one, I seriously lol'd.
