project rx-7 updates

GT3582r, 1.06 a/r divided housing, 3"v-band outlet, gun drilled and ported compressor housing. long runner turbo mani, double wrapped, heat shielded and heat wrapped lower intake manifold (it's real close to the turbo). Figure should get me up in the 450-500whp on 17 psi or so. don't want to push it though til the cobalt is back together. will be running on 7 psi off the wastegate (tial 44mm v-band) until I have some time to tune it. motor is built and aggressive street ported, 850cc primary 1600cc secondary injectors, Power FC w/ datalogit software, ACT clutch, greddy 3.5" exhaust no cat, no 02's

well got the car back together and running last night. have to move the oil feed and lower the charge piping, and fix a leak on the wastgate flange. Car sounds retarded, can't wait to take it out for it's maiden voyage tonight. only issue is it's a lot louder lol, but sounds like pure rotary sex. Keep forgetting to take my camera's with me in the morning since I go straight to the shop after work. but here's some more shitty cell phone pics to hold you guys over.

Those motors are very touchy. Cross your fingers that the engine wont blow.

not 100% sure I'll have it out tomorrow, there was a problem with the WG flange, bill can't weld it at his place since his welder won't handle the sch 40 stainless in the car. He's going to bring it to his uncles hopefully tonight and use the lift and big welder. if it is done by when I get there after work tomorrow, and passes it's test drive I'll have it out.

A buddy of mine has a 10th anniversary edition RX7 and hasn't had any luck keeping the thing running. But can't bring himself to get rid of it either. Unfortunately for him he has no mechanical skills whatsoever.

I used to race a 2nd gen about 10 years ago, so I'm used to the maintence required to keep these things running (my 86 was 526whp on a single T66 bridgeported motor). So far this one has been fine cept for blowing up a turbo a few months back.
