Sad day for a buddy of mine

Everybody remembers when either they or there buddy got there first crusing car. The car you guys took out every weekend when you were in high school and put 500 miles on it in one night. Well this is my buddys baby under a huge tree. He has had this car for about 14 years and other than a few minor things and body work it was very complete. It had new interior and the 350 had to have less than 3000 miles on it. This car is how I learned to do 99% of everything I know about cars and I cant count how many wrenching hours we have spent on it. you will be missed.

Its a 1962 2 door Impala with factory a/c and power steering.

bummer. Up here in Michigan it's been raining since Thursday and rivers are flooding, I have a nice lake in my backyard and remenents of Ike are going to be pounding us all day and into the night.

So far we have gotten somewhere between 3-7 inches of rain and it keeps coming..we are set to get another 1-2 more inches today alone and another inch tonight.

yeah the huge rain that wisconsin got earlier this year cause a bunch of trees in the area to get route rot... 2 tree's in my yard are on there way out its sad because they are huge and provide a ton of passive solar energy for are house.

this has been the summer of rain

His homeowners insurance should cover this. Although that isn't the same as getting the car back.

Yeah were hoping that he can get something for it. It will never replace it but maybe give him some money to find something else. Him and his dad worked on the car alot too and its really hitting him hard because his dad loved that car and he just passed away a little over a year ago.

Yeah it happend around 2:30 a.m.

Its hard to tell in these pics but that tree is huge. It fills his entire back yard and his roomates 240 is under it also but from what we can tell it only needs a back hatch.

His roomates 240 was sitting on the other side of the yard and it knocked out the back glass and dented the rear 1/4. Other than that its fine. There doing road construction in front of his house and they had been parking in the back yard. If that would of happend there would of been a Impala, 2 240s and a IS300 all smashed.
