Thanks everyone

I've got this down to a science. I've got like a 1 person mini-assembly line I completed this set from start to finish in 2 days, probably like 3 hours or so each day.

Wow, that's impressive!

Mind showing pictures of how/where you mount the ballasts? I have a set of RX projectors/E30 clear lenses I'm going to play with over winter break. I need to find a set of bi-xenons also...

Thanks!

Depending on the ballast, there are a few places I've used. More often and when in doubt, I mount it under the black bucket that holds the headlight in place.

very clean, the only thing I would've done different is leave the ring around the reflector chrome

what did you use behind the shroud to cover everything up?

thanks Eric! Glad everything finally got sorted out... be sure to post some pics!

@Ion - yeah, I would have done that but these are the black diamonds off eBay and everything is pre-painted black... so no choice there. But the shrouds are so big and wrap around really well that they cover up the projector and mounting hardware completely. So by far my favorite shrouds for that reason and I just think they look really cool.

they look really good on your car! too bad about that one shroud getting a little out of place... must have happened during shipping again, I do have pics of their state before they were shipped out. sorry about that dude, I truly am... hopefully you can live with that little imperfection... they look great otherwise though.

ya its not a huge thing, but i want to ask you how do i aim them? I think one is too low, or maybe to high? dont know but i was driving and i can see two cutoffs so i guessed that one might have moved?

Ok, what you want to do is park on a nice flat, level surface facing a clean wall. Park 25 feet away and then measure the distance from the ground to the projectors on your car, then measure from the ground to the cutoff line and the upper step on each projector should be 2" lower than what you measured from the ground to the projectors. They were aimed before shipping so if they are off, chances are at least on is good then you just need to adjust the other to the same level. All you need is a Philips head screwdriver and turn clockwise or counterclockwise.

But there should be 2 lines when you are looking at the cutoff... they are like a backwards Z, so _______/------- should be the cutoff... it's one line, but might look like 2.

It looks like two, and it might be me, but they seem low lol. Where do i turn it with the screwdriver? is it the thing thats close to the top on the back of the headlight?

wait so you're just using the E55 shroud to cover the projector? nothing behind that?

@Eric - yeah it's the screw at the top near the back in the middle... should be easily visible from top with the lights installed in the car.

@WhiteSSBalt - roughly $700

@Ion - yeah, for this particular set. I did make a custom shield to wrap around the projectors to prevent light bleed. And like I said the shroud covers everything up and I think the look of the oem reflector is nice in itself, so making something extra would be counter intuitive in this situation imo.

no problem, just be careful though not to twist too much because small adjustments equal big changes and if you move it too much, you run the risk of the reflector popping off it's pegs. The eBay headlights are notorious for this, but I did cement it in place really well with JB weld, but still be careful with adjustments. It might appear low, but that's how it should be from factory... but might differ from my car to your car, so give it a go if you want.
