some pics of my old car,

'95 Bonneville SLE.. I miss that car more every day. I sold it because the little things that kept breaking ended up costing me over 2 and a half grand in the end.. from a rebuilt lower end, to the motor locking up and tossing a Grand prix GT motor in, to a rebuilt trans, to new subframe mounts, to alot of other new ****.. car always looked pretty. here's a few shots from between the time of March '06 to June '07 which was the last time I took pics under my ownership. The new owner doesn't take care of this car's looks' worth a damn . Pisses me off.

When i got it. looked like ****. paint was hazy. what i basically did in my time of ownership was beat it some, race people, have alot of memories forged in, remove pinstripes, polished down countless times, new rims (august 06 from a 94 ssei), ssei tails, ssei headlamp sticker (didnt really matter..)

anyhow, this is what it looked like when i got it.

nov. 2006

best pic i think i took of it, december 2006.. i've got this printed up and tacked up on my wall.

same spot a few days later, door reflection shot.. you can see what i'd done to bring that paint back.. car was made in sep. of '94, i let the original build sheet go with the new owner, i remember the build sheet said something about sep. 1994, 1AM it rolled off the line.. i cant remember the date, but either way this is pretty good..

and finally, i took those rims off , and.. well, put them in my shed because the tires were gone (wasn't me..) LOL so the stock spoke wheels went back on. IMO they looked DAMN good when they were clean, but it was so much work.. 25-30 minutes on EACH wheel with a toothbrush to get it clean. these pics were taken june 23 this year at a windycitypontiac.net meet-up.

and one more, from january '07 for ***** and giggles.. got mirror?

i definitely miss that car .. wishing i never sold it but the body was beginning to literally fall apart, and .. well, who knows what would've gone . when i sold it, i ended up getting not more than $500 because there were two bad wheel bearings, a bad cv shaft, needed struts, tires, bushings in suspension all around, and i just couldn't handle the work that it needed, it was a nickel and dime pit. oh well, maybe someday i can find another in adriatic blue, but it'd have to be a 95 to feel right.

i feel the same way about my old malibu, i put so much work into the damn things and it was great til one faitful night when the tranny slipped really hard on me, and in that slip i threw out two rod bearings and pretty much destroyed the engine and tranny in one shot...being 16 y.o. and earning taco bell wages i didnt have the $ to fix it so i had to sell it

95 was actually the lightest year.

3,446 LBS was the curb weight of the SE, the SLE was maybe 30 pounds heavier due to the power drivers' seat/power antenna/leather on the seat foam instead of cloth.

That said, also had composite fenders (92-95) and 95 was the first year of the 3800 series 2 V6 , so it was the one with the least PCM Restrictions for emissions, giving it 207BHP, 235 LB FT/TQ.

BTW, the Pontiac Grand Prix is roughly the same weight.

those are solid ass cars, they last so long. there's an STE AWD running around here I'd like to buy up and do a 3.8 engine / build up the trans to handle the 300+ hp i'd have cuz it'd be modded.

orrrr....

i'd like to find an 89/90 grand prix with the mclaren turbo system in it.

There's quite a bit of those driving around here...by far, my favorite Grand Prix. I think they're sex on wheels. Kind of. For their time, they were excellent cars. Might check cars.com or autotrader SIDENOTE: My neice claims to know this guy with a 2002 Impala that he put a turbo on. What's the hp potential of the Impala? I think it'd be a sweet little ride

Those are such cool cars! I see an occasional beater and one really nice one driving around on occasion; the guy knows what he has since he keeps it mint (and has TURBO GP on his plates).

If I could find a clean, rust free TGP I'd be all over it.
