I always wondered what it would look like with the bumper cut open to show a monster IC/HE. Looks good. Do you have to cut the support out for it to fit?

the jegs one is not a real cobalt thou and neither is the white one. its just a fiberglass look-a-like body over a tubular frame. the yellow and blue one is an actual full body cobalt that was converted to rear wheel drive. it was sold on ebay about 6 or 8 months ago for around 10,000 with no motor or trans. it was set up to run SBC or v6.

 

yea, you will have to hack the support up pretty nasty for it to fit like that. But when trying to get every ounce of power you can, it's worth it.

and who gives a **** about the rwd cobalts being tubular frames and v8's, they are still cobalts to me, they still look rather normal compared to some other drag cobalts I've seen with elongated front ends.

 

I love how the yellow/blue one has a front license plate frame. Makes it look like it can be seen doing wheelie's down the local highway haha

 

I really like the way it looks, I'm just curious if an insurance company could "deny" your claim bacause of it (if something ever happened).Considering with a front collision there will be most likely more damage.

yea definitly. im contemplating that before i get my 500 hp i could be one of the first street driven (non-drag related) cobalt.

 

Just think of how easy it would be to harness the potential power from these powerplants if the power went to the rear wheels.

I always wondered why they didn't make it rwd. There are other global platform cars from gm that are just as small if not smaller and are rwd.

I don't know why they think that we wouldn't enjoy something like that. Like torque steer is the best thing in the world.
