Sure as **** looks to me like this says $105,685 : http://www.dodge.com/hostc/bmo/colors.do Again, only $3,500 cheaper than the Vette, but with less content.......

You could argue it but it would be a silly argument, seeing as how the Vette eninge is smaller, lighter, gets better fuel economy and makes more horsepower and torque......Not to mention the Viper V10 is an epic pain in the ass to work on. Throw in the mix that a good exhaust is $4,000 (as opposed to $2,500 for the Vette), and things just get worse.........
that link says

They weigh about the same ( the viper is a bit lighter ), the viper makes ~574 whp stock, the viper outperformed around the track, and their 1/4mile and trap speeds are comparable.

Honestly mod expense and gas milage kind of go out the window when you can afford a $100k vehicle. I can tell you that any viper can upgraded to run a TT kit and an excess of 1700 rwp for around $25k. Thats a DD 1700 hp. I can also tell you that any FI viper is going to pull harder than a ZR1 because it has a BIGGER ENGINE and MORE DISPLACEMENT.

Honestly, if u FI a viper theyre pretty much untouchable. I watched a 1000 rwhp cobra vs a 1000 rwhp viper. The top end of the viper raped even though they were both rated the same power and both had TT setups. Im pretty sure it had something to do with the whole 4.6l V8 -vs- 8.4l V10 issue, and the cobra not having enough displacement to keep up.

And anyways as I said both the viper and zr1 are crap from a price perspective. You would still be better off getting a gt500 and modding that well beyond what the zr1 or viper would be in stock form.

that kinda makes me laugh. not here to E-argue or play the magazine game where we quote numbers and all but the gt500 seems to be quite the porker when it comes to weight and balance. still a monster of a car though!

Its definitely heavier, but can run high 11's stock! Thats comparable to the viper and zr1, which is impressive to say the least considering it only runs a touch over 500 rwhp. Check it out:

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...n_results.html

Now add some basic bolt ons like pulley, cai, exhaust etc and you would easily have a 10 sec car.

touche' sir. i didnt know they were into the 11s stock. all i have seen is low 12s. and low 11s to low 12s is a huge difference hence why i was chuckling at your previous statement. i stand corrected though. on a completely different note, i ****** love the looks of the gt500.

ah, thats my most attainable dream car (terminator). im sure one day when i have kids they will grow up and ask why i did shell out a measley 25k for such an amazing car. they are quite the bargain for their performance and potential right out of the box.

574whp stock? thats damned impressive, whered you get that number, ive been seeing 540-555.

Now mods expense and fuel economt dont matter? a mojor point of your argument was the Viper is cheape, so how do other costs not matter now???

I would absolutely ******* LOVE for you to show me a 1700hp twin turbo Viper built for $25,000

Gee, a Viper with a power adder is gonna pull harder than a stock ZR1???? No ****, how long did it take to figure that one out man.......Youre pulling ricer **** now.

Incredibly unlikely you could build a streetable, friendly to drive Mustang that would outperform the ZR1 and ACR in everyway for less than they cost.

How is 11.951/120.29 comparable to a ZR1 that runs 10.74 @ 133????? ZR1s and ACRs run 10.9s @130+ mph, the Stang runs 11.9s @ 120........hardly the same ballpark.

Your number skills are getting worse and worse.

Viper ACR is not on their site, I looked already.

574 whp. Its on viperclub.org. Theyre rated at 600 crank, so I dont see how 574 is hard to believe.

Youre the one that seems to think gas milage and modding costs are relevant in a

100k car. Seriously, if you have the income to throw around ~100k, do u honestly think the owner goes:

"well gee whizz, I hope it gets good gas milage. I wonder if I should get a prius instead.."

And honestly, if you have 100k disposable income, what the hell is going to stop you from putting whatever mods you want into the thing? Price/cost of mods/gas are not an issue with that much money.

Im not going to search for u, look it up. viperclub.org. Thats where I get my info from.

And how would a TT cobra not be streetable when they already exist? U dont know much about other car manufacturers and their vehicles do u?

An average driver in an SRT10 or ZR1 nets around an 11.7-11.5 range. When tested by motortrend they got an 11.7 for both. 11.9 isnt far behind considering.

Anyways, as I said. ~35k for a used gt500, and around 3k for minro bolt ons and BAM. A 10 sec car with an extra 70k in the bank over the zr1 and viper.

Either way, the gt500 is the easier route to go from a performance perspective.

Super snake gt500 is 700whp and only runs a 10.8. What do you think about that? Not much of a zr1 killer

You can do more with a custom build on a normal ( non super snake ) gt500. The super snakes are overly priced junk for the warranty ( youre paying for the name and styling ). I guess u wouldnt know this would u?

I believe this is what ur looking for:

http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge...lby/Shelby.htm

Dont post junk, post the real stuff. 800 hp on a stock engine. SC swap only. Pretty impressive. there are alos vids of the same SC setup making over 870 rwhp on u tube.

And they still cost less than the ZR1 and are quicker. Strange huh?

Seriously though, the viper and zr1 are crap price wise. You can get a gt500 which would be a much better DD than both, TT or prochrage that sucker and still have some change left over for a full suspension.

11 or 10 sec car? Screw that a TT/procharged gt500 is a 9 sec car easily.
True, but not everyone is out to save a buck. Not everyone likes mustangs either. Going 10's out of the box and under warranty holds a much higher value than bolting a tt onto a rustang imo. Timebomb.

As far as driveability, I have heard the zr1 is a handful as well. My buddy who was paralyzed in the viper was on his way home from the dealership after getting some work done (dodges..) and swung out to pass my other friend, spooled up the tires and went into a ft ditch obliterating the car. Sad. He was a great hockey player. Coulda went pro, tough as nails. Whats even more sad is the car belonged to the other friend he was passing...

How do you figure its quicker? A gt500 wouldnt have a chance around a race track vs the zr1.

The shelby is a muscle car, and its designed as much.

Around a track, well as I said you would have quite a bit of money left over to mod the suspension so Id assume you could upgrade it enough to compete. Im not sure if it would be as good, but it probly would be close.

so wait, a zr1 wiped out too? O man, thats tragic. Such a waste of two beautiful cars.

You can't compare the fastest GT500 times to average magazine times of a Zr1, it doesn't work that way dear lol.

power to weight and aero both come into play at high speeds.

Both cars are great for what they are. Its not the fact that you can buy a gt500 cheaper and make it faster. Its the fact that you have a limited production car that is fast out of the box. A lot of people like that exclusiveness, more than going fast.

Exactly why I would want a viper over a gt500. Theyre just so sexy looking. Plus 2 seater FTW.

The only other 2 seater I would consider is an LS3 supercharged sky redline..... Those mallet conversions are ******* sex on wheels. Much better than that silly LNF under the hood.

1BAD, the amount of quoted posts i would need to argue against you is ridiculous at this point...but lets just say you're wrong on most accounts, especially everything you said about the mustang, and that while the viper is damn good when comparing stock to stock, it is nowhere near the untouchable beast you seem to play it off to be when mods are involved. And yes, money is always a factor. Take this from someone who has several hundred thousand dollars worth of cars in the driveway. We still watch our fuel economy...and dont even start about mods

I think thats pretty hard to believe......and like I said if thats true its super rare, higher 540s are much more common:

Well even though i went I got you some info on the dynos that show th results i was talking I thought Id point out that in general if your calling someone out and telling them about something new or proving a point (IE a $25k build for a TT 1700hp Viper) its your responsibility to prove your statements.. But since youre failing to do that Ill just do my best to prove you wrong. Heffnerrs Performance and Underground Racing are the two big names in turbo power right now, and probably the only place anyone with a Viper and brain would go to get a 1700hp car built, heres the thing though......Both Heffners and UG builds typically START at $30k, and that would be a mild, say 800hp Viper. UG's beautiful Lambo Gallardo builds are about 65k for the 800hp version and well over $100k for the full out 1200+hp build. the Current fastest street tire, full weight Viper (7.98 ) was built by UG and has a build investment of $180k+.........just saying.

And how would a TT cobra not be streetable when they already exist? U dont know much about other car manufacturers and their vehicles do u?
Just because they exist doesnt mean they can perform on the same level as a ZR1 and be as daily drivable, it can be done, but like I said, your gonna spend ZR1 money to do it......you seem to be stuck on 1/4 mile times....if you just wanna talk 1/4mile times I can make my 78 malibu run 9s for $15,000, throw in the $2,000 I pad for the car and youve got a total investment fof $17,ooo for a 140mph screamer that will destroy ANY stock car at a any price in the 1/4 But, my #13,000 cobalt would still beat it around an autox or roadcourse......
